Wick is AAFA's Chairman of the Board and President Emeritus. At the meeting, he retired from the Board of Directors, joined by Julius, Gil, DL, and James P. Alford (who wasn't in attendance). A big thanks to Sally for managing the entire sales operation, and to everyone who helped her in the sales room. Elizabeth is AAFA 's Publicistas usual, she licked a lot of stamps and addressed a lot of letters to get the word out about our annual meeting. Gil, also as usual, made us glad he's on our team l BELOW-Max Alford, MFA Secretary, and his wife Earline, #230, TX; and Doris Alford Vetri, MFA Treasurer, and her husband Sebastian, #303, NJ. Max maintains the membership records and does the actual mailing of AAFA ACTION. Doris keeps track of the money! ABOVE-Pamela Alford Thompson, #030, CA, is the editor of AAFA ACTIONand had a great time at the meeting. She won the award for having come the farthest, and although she didn't do anything to make the meeting happen, she makes sure the quarterly goes to press every few months! RIGHT-Benjamin Alford, MFA President, with his wife Ruth, #447, PA; and son Benjamin Alford, III, #448, TN. Ben presided over the meeting, making everyone feel welcome and happy to be an Alford!

If you want to cross-stitch one of these beautiful pieces of needlework yourself, you can order the pattern for $15 ~. from Earline Alford, MFA secretary Max Alford's wife. Frances Alford, #85, operates Alford Framing in Atlanta.. and did a beautiful job of framing the cross-stitch. MFA would like to say thank you to Mary for freeing Gil to, as he says, "wallow in 'dead Affords' for more hours per day than most spouses would tolerate. Mary takes care ofjust about everything-family finances, banking, shopping, running my errands, etc." Many spouses give up a lot of their mate for MFA, and we thank them all!
