VILLAGE OF POSEN MINUTES OF A RE-SCHEDULED REGULAR MEETING OF THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POSEN HELD TUESDAY, MAY 18 TH, 2010 AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE POSEN MUNICIPAL BUILDING CALL TO ORDER President Donald W. Schupek, called this Regular Meeting to order for Tuesday, May 18 th, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. in the Posen Municipal Building, 2440 W. Walter Zimny Drive, Posen, Illinois. ROLL CALL Upon the Call of the Roll by Clerk Veronica Grabowski, Trustees Podbielniak, Niemeyer, Casillas, Klapkowski and Spindler were present. Absent was Trustee D.J. Schnering. Also in attendance were Village Attorney Peter Murphy, Fire Chief Kevin Szewczyk, Administrator Stan Barwock and Bookkeeper Angelito Alzona. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE President Schupek led the Village Board and attending public in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS President Schupek called for a motion to accept the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Tuesday, April 27 th, 2010 as written. Trustee Spindler moved, seconded by Trustee Klapkowski to accept them. All Trustees Voted Aye: motion carried. FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION Chairman F. Podbielniak Trustee Podbielniak moved, seconded by Trustee Niemeyer to approve Warrant #1-10/11. All Trustees Voted Aye: motion carried. Trustee Podbielniak directed the Clerk to read Resolution #2010-02, Establishing Wage Scale for Village Employees for the Fiscal Year 2010-2011. He then moved, seconded by Niemeyer to approve Resolution #2010-02. All Trustees Voted Aye: motion carried. Trustee Podbielniak directed the Clerk to do the first reading of Ordinance #2010-03, Appropriating for Corporate Purposes for the Village of Posen, Cook County, Illinois for the Fiscal Year Beginning May 1 st, 2010 and ending April 30 th, 2011.

APRIL 22 Permits 0 New Residential Homes 1 Commercial Construction Total Building Permit Fees: $425.00 5 For Sale Inspections 2 Rental Inspection 5 Business Inspections Good 2 Go Gyros located at 3033 E. 147 th Street in the Marathon Gas Station is open for business. Building report is hanging on the bulletin board in the vestibule. PUBLIC WORKS Chairman C. Spindler Trustee Spindler announced that water bills were mailed out Wednesday, May 12 th and due on May 25 th. A penalty will be added on all bills paid on May 26 th. FIRE Chairman J. Casillas Trustee Casillas announced that a request was received from the Fire Department to host their Annual Boot Drive Fundraiser on Friday, June 4 th, and Saturday, June 5 th, 2010. They will be soliciting on the corner of 147 th Street and Kedzie Avenue. He then moved, seconded by Trustee Podbielniak to approve their request. All Trustees Voted Aye: motion carried. POLICE Chairman D. Niemeyer Trustee Niemeyer directed the Clerk to read Ordinance #2010-04, Authorizing the Disposal of Personal Property Owned by the Village of Posen, Illinois. Attorney Murphy interjected by saying this Ordinance is a request to dispose of two Police Vehicles, namely one 1991 Chevy Caprice car and one 2000 Ford Crown Victoria car. They will be used as training aids by the Fire Department and then discarded. Trustee Niemeyer moved, seconded by Trustee Spindler to approve Ordinance #2010-04. All Trustees Voted Aye: motion carried.
RECREATION Chairman R. Klapkowski Trustee Klapkowski read the following Community Center Receipts for April 2010: Registration $1,690.00 Rental 2,105.00 Deposit 300.00 Dram 600.00 Fundraiser 871.00 Total $5,566.00 Trustee Klapkowski read the following Community Center News for May, 2010: The Seniors will have their monthly meeting at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday May, 19 th. This will be the last meeting until September 15, 2010. The Community Luncheon will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. The entrée will be pork chops from Hog Wild. Tickets for this luncheon will be $7.00 per person and must be brought in advance. The American Legion will meet at 6:00 P.M. on May 27 th, 2010. All are welcome to attend. OTHER President Schupek announced that a Memorial Service sponsored by the Village of Posen and The Posen American Legion will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, May 31, 2010. It will be held at the Veterans Memorial located at 147 th Street and Veterans Drive. A reception will follow at the Posen Municipal Building, 2440 W. Walter Zimny Drive. President Schupek announced that Tony s restaurant is now open for business. It is located where the El Polo Restaurant was. All are invited to support it. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC A resident asked a question about an entry on the Warrant to Saakshi Corporation. A resident asked which meeting will the Trustees get paid for, this one or the last. A resident asked when will the Website be updated and who does it.
