MONETARY COMPENSATION-EMERGENT SUPPORT Economic relief for victims and their children usually takes the form of interim and/or ongoing support. If a prior support order exists through a divorce or child support civil action, additional reliefs arising from the domestic violence action are likely to be treated as separate from the ongoing support order already in effect. This may account for the fact that emergent support continues to be rarely requested or granted. a. VICTIM - EMERGENT SUPPORT Emergent support for victims ensures that victims are financially able to meet their daily needs.
