The Resident Housing Association Board of Director Positions 2016 2017 Board of Director Positions
The following outlines but is not inclusive of the President s duties and responsibilities to the Resident Housing Association as stated in the Constitution. a. Represents RHA at major university functions (Fall and Spring Check-in, Eagle Expo) a. Is the chief executive of the Resident Housing Association. b. Is responsible for ensuring that all provisions of the constitution and the laws of the Resident Housing Association are faithfully executed. c. Is responsible for chairing the Executive Board of Directors meeting in the absence of the Vice President. d. Is to appoint vacant Executive Board of Director s positions with the majority delegation approval. e. Is responsible for delegating duties of absent Executive Board of Director positions. f. Is responsible for giving a regular consistent report to the delegation on executive activities. g. Is responsible for organizing volunteers to assist in duties not defined in the constitution. h. Is responsible for enforcing parliamentary rules and procedures during all Executive Board of Director s meetings. i. Is responsible for overseeing all Resident Housing Association events, including the planning process. j. Required to attend all weekly Executive Board and general delegation meetings. k. Is to meet regularly with Resident Housing Association Advisor(s) and the Director of the Office of Housing and Residence Life. Participates in all Residential Housing Association chaired activities and events including set-up and breakdown unless previously approved by the Executive Board. a. Works a minimum of 5 hours within the Resident Housing Association s Office. b. Attends conferences, including but not limited to SAACURH and NACURH, and serve as a delegation leader at those conferences. c. Responsible for attending Executive Board training and retreat(s). d. Performs any other power or duty defined in the RHA Constitution.
The following outlines but is not inclusive of the Vice President s duties and responsibilities to the Resident Housing Association as stated in the Constitution. e. Represents RHA at major university functions (Fall and Spring Check-in, Eagle Expo) f. Is responsible for exercising the powers and duties of the president in the absence of the president. g. Responsible for chairing all Executive Board of Directors meetings. h. Responsible for serve as the chief financial officer of the Resident Housing Association. i. Responsible for keeping complete and accurate accounts of all Resident Housing Association funds and deposits. j. Responsible for giving a full financial report to the Delegation at least twice monthly and at every Executive Board of Directors meeting. k. Responsible for collecting a copied expenditure form from all purchases for events, travel, and related activities. l. Responsible for meeting regularly with Resident Housing Association Advisor to discuss and update the organizations financial status. m. Responsible for making recommendations to the delegation for student appointments to University committees. If no recommendations can be made the Vice President or his/her designee shall assume the position. n. Responsible for the regular review of the work of the Executive Board of Directors and committee chairs and make recommendations to the President concerning corrective action. o. Responsible for overseeing and keeping a current list of all Housing Delegates. p. Is responsible for enforcing parliamentary rules and procedures during all general meetings. q. Responsible for sharing responsibility with the RHA Advisor(s) to ensure that all Board of Directors are in good academic and disciplinary standing. r. Required to attend all weekly Executive Board and general delegation meetings. s. Is to meet regularly with Resident Housing Association Advisor(s). t. Participates in all Residential Housing Association chaired activities and events including set-up and breakdown unless previously approved by the Executive Board. u. Works a minimum of 5 hours within the Resident Housing Association s Office. v. Attends conferences, including but not limited to Mini-FARH, SAACURH, FARH, No Frills, and NACURH, and serve as a delegation leader at those conferences. w. Responsible for attending Executive Board training and retreat(s). x. Performs any other power or duty defined in the RHA Constitution.
The following outlines but is not inclusive of the Director of Communications s duties and responsibilities to the Resident Housing Association as stated in the Constitution. Represents RHA at major university functions (Fall and Spring Check-in, Eagle Expo) a. Responsible for taking minutes at both executive and general meetings and keeping track of them. b. Works in conjunction with the Director of Communications to make them available to the public as well as to the Executive Board of Directors. c. Responsible to taking attendance at the general meeting and keeping track of the delegate attendance d. Responsible for keeping record of attendance, constitution, and rules and procedures e. Responsible for maintaining the Resident Housing Association email account, sending mass emails, including but not limited to updates, announcements, and reminders to general members, Resident Housing Association Housing Delegates, and the Executive Board of Directors. f. Responsible for providing a monthly calendar of events. g. Responsible for maintaining record of all bills passed through the delegation. h. Responsible for providing the association with an end of the year report. i. Responsible for advertising, promoting, and publicizing all events, programs, and the Resident Housing Association itself. j. Responsible for maintaining a current bulletin board to be changed by the 5 th of every month. k. Creates event flyers in collaboration with the event chair. l. Is responsible for updating and maintaining information on the Residential Housing Association website, including but not limited to weekly agendas, minutes, calendar of events and photos. m. Required to attend all weekly Executive Board and general delegation meetings. n. Is to meet regularly with Resident Housing Association Advisor(s). Participates in all Residential Housing Association chaired activities and events including set-up and breakdown unless previously approved by the Executive Board. o. Works a minimum of 5 hours within the Resident Housing Association s Office. p. Attends conferences, including but not limited to Mini-FARH, SAACURH, FARH, No Frills, and NACURH, and serve as a delegation leader at those conferences. q. Responsible for attending Executive Board training and retreat(s). r. Performs any other power or duty defined in the RHA Constitution.
The following outlines but is not inclusive of the National Communications Coordinator duties and responsibilities to the Resident Housing Association as stated in the Constitution. Represents RHA at major university functions (Fall & Spring Check-in, Eagle Expo) (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) (j) (k) (l) (m) (n) (o) (p) (q) Responsible for attending conferences, including but not limited to the Mini-Florida Association of Residence Hall, South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls, Florida Association of Residents Halls, South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls No-Frills, and National Association of College and University Residence Halls Conferences, and serve as delegation leader at those conferences; Responsible for coordinating all conference preparation, including conference delegation selection with the assistance of the President or acting Co-National Communications Coordinator, Complete conference preparations also including researching and planning details of conference travel arrangements, hotel reservations, registration, excursion options, and related expenses (in conjunction with the Vice President); Attend the National Association of College and University Residence Halls Conference following the conclusion of his/her term in order to assist the new National Communications Coordinator as necessary; Responsible for preparing and submitting any award essays, bids, and or programs to be presented, judged, and or voted on at conferences as necessary; Responsible for completing affiliation with required organizations; Responsible for fulfilling all conference duties, including representation of Florida Gulf Coast University at all conference business meetings; To update and maintain the Resource File Index, by writing the RFI report To present all school, personal, and positional award bids to the Florida Gulf Coast University body for confirmation; Assist National Residence Hall Honorary in any and all bids for regional or national awards; Inform Florida Gulf Coast University of state, regional, and national residence hall news; Be responsible for representation at Fall and Spring Check-In as well as Eagle Expo Meet regularly with a Resident Housing Association Adviser(s) Responsible for attending Board of Directors training and retreat(s) Complete a minimum of a 5 hour commitment per week within the Resident Housing Association Office. On the weeks when the university has a holiday the Board members must complete one hour for every day classes are in session that week Be present for each Resident Housing Association Board of Directors chaired event unless written notice is brought to the President 48 hours prior to the event. Required to attend all weekly Board of Governors Meetings and monthly RHA Town Hall Meetings.
(r) (s) Required to attend at least 1 Area Council Town Hall Meeting a month Perform any other powers or duties provided for in this Constitution. Participates in all Residential Housing Association chaired activities and events including set-up and breakdown unless previously approved by the Executive Board. a. Works a minimum of 5 hours within the Resident Housing Association s Office. b. Attends conferences, including but not limited to Mini-FARH, SAACURH, FARH, No Frills, and NACURH, and serve as a delegation leader at those conferences. c. Responsible for attending Executive Board training and retreat(s). d. Performs any other power or duty defined in the RHA Constitution.
The following outlines but is not inclusive of the Student Government Liaison duties and responsibilities to the Resident Housing Association as stated in the Constitution. Represents RHA at major university functions (Fall and Spring Check-in, Eagle Expo) a. Foster communication between the Resident Housing Association and Student Government by keeping both groups updated on the other s important activities and announcements b. Be responsible for representation at Fall and Spring Check-In as well as Eagle Expo c. Meet regularly with a Resident Housing Association Adviser d. Responsible for attending Board of Director Training & Retreats e. Be present for each Resident Housing Association Board of Directors chaired event unless written notice is brought to the President 48 hours prior to the event. f. Required to attend all weekly Board of Governors Meetings and RHA Town Hall Meetings every semester. g. Perform any other powers or duties provided for in the constitution. Participates in all Residential Housing Association chaired activities and events including setup and breakdown unless previously approved by the Board of Directors. a. Responsible for attending Board of Directors training and retreat(s). b. Performs any other power or duty defined in the RHA Constitution.
