October 24 th, 2017 DVI Subcommittee Meeting 12:00 PM The meeting of the City of New Buffalo DDA DVI Subcommittee for October 24 th, 2017, was called to order by Co-Chair Mullins at 12:02 P.M. in the Conference Room at New Buffalo City Hall, 224 W. Buffalo St., New Buffalo, MI 49117. Roll Call: Ellie Mullins, Kay Hartman, Kathy Randolph, Paula Bartholome, Robert Kemper, Karen Doughty, Nora Howe Absent: Roger Boike, Dee Dee Duhn Also, Present: Mark Robertson, John Kursal and Tony Ashbaugh Motion by Member Kay, seconded by Member Bartholome to approve the agenda, voice vote unanimous, motion carried. Motion by Member Bartholome, seconded by Member Randolph to approve the previous minutes with the change of Member Bartholome s vote on Domus style of light, she abstained, voice vote unanimous, motion carried. No one from the public spoke under public comments. Amenity Discussion Member Hartmann suggested landscape forms, lakeside style and sustainable concrete from Tree Huggers. Member Doughty stated the light fixtures need to be decided before amenities. Recommends a pop of color. Suggests Landscape Forms: Lakeside trash can, Rest Bench, FGP, Concord. Victor Stanley: S-13, curvelinear bench on pg 65 Member Howe also wants a pop of color. Concerned about real wood wearing badly, suggest poly look alike. Concerned about powder coat finishes on amenities. Like bistro tables, lakeside trash cans, curvilinear with metal. Member Kemper pass, gaveupdate on light fixtures instead. Working to narrow down to four options with Abonmarche. Member Randolph wants to incorporate natural wood. Likes Landscape Forms FGP bench and trash can Member Bartholome brings up recycling is very important and we should look at St. Jospeh s study from this past summer. Bike racks, ones that hang up on buildings save room. Mr. Ashbaugh Streets Dept. For maintenance purposes, the Streets dept would prefer: - no attached chairs to tables - amenities with less legs - pieces that are easy to get around, underneath etc Member Mullins like real wood. High quality last and wears well like jarrah used in Landscape Forms products. Member Comments To help decide we need to list our criteria durability We need the spaces defined (dimensions and footprints to see what wil fit and how)

October 24 th, 2017 DVI Subcommittee Meeting 12:00 PM Preliminary budget scope (how many of each pieces are we budgeting for) Motion by Member Randolph, seconded by Member Doughty to adjourn the meeting at 1:30pm., voice vote unanimous, meeting adjourned. Ellie Mullins, Co-Chair
