The City of Bampton Regions of Halton and Peel Town at Halton Hills and Town of Caledon wee all joint paticipants in a coss-juisdictional tanspotation study known as the Halton Peel Bounday Aea Tanspotation (HPBAT) Study. The HPBAT Study identified a numbe of tanspotation needs including the East-West Connection and the Haiton-Peel Feeway to sevice expected futue tavel demands in the West Bampton and Southeast Halton Region. These tanspotation impovements which may connect to a futue GTA West Coido unde study by the Povince equie the implementation of coido potection policies in ode to safeguad the viable ange at potential alignments and minimize the isk of incompatible land use designations o appovals on both an inteim and final basis. The above-noted municipalities have made significant pogess in negotiating a Memoandum of Undestanding (MOU) to establish time fames and an ageed pocess fo impiementing coido potection policies in thei espective Official Pians. As the MOU is not yet finalized this Notice of Appeai is being filed as a potective measue to safeguad the City's inteests in The Copoation of The CIty of BamplOO 2 Wellington Steet West Bampton ON L6Y 4R2 T: 905.874.2000 TTY: 905.874.2130

The City expects that it will likely be in a position to withdaw this appeal upon execution of the MOU by all paties with appopiate submissions to the Ontaio Municipal Boad in elated poceedings. In the meantime the City is appealing the decision to appove ROPA 38 insofa as it fails to contain coido potection policies o elated mapping to identify lands fo potection to suppot the planning and development of the Halton-Peel Feeway futue East-West connections between Peel and Halton and to potect fo a connection to a futue GTA West coido. The need fo coido potection is set out in the ecommendations of the HPBAT StUdy the City's Tanspotation and Tansit Maste Plan Sustainable Update (July 2009) and the ecently eleased GTA West Daft Tanspotation Development Stategy Repot. Thee is a compelling pubiic inteest in ensuing that the futue implementation of Noth-South and East-West tanspotation connections between the Region of Halton Region of Peel and aea municipalities is not unduly pejudiced. Such pejudice is inconsistent with the policy objectives of the Povince as aticulated in the Gowth Plan fo the Geate Golden Hoseshoe and the Povincial Policy Statement (2005). The City is aleady a Paty to ongoing Boad poceedings especting the Town of Halton Hills Official Plan (PL080424 - cuently adjouned sine die) and Compehensive Zoning By-iaw (PL100931). The City's inteest in those poceedings likewise stems fom a lack of coido potection policies within the appealed instuments. The City espectfully submits that it would be appopiate and in the inteests to all concened fo the Boad to consolidate this appeal with Case No. PL100931 fo case management puposes.
