One Refugee Scholarship Program Recipients of the scholarship award will receive financial assistance and career coaching to help them land a student internship or job in their professional field. Financial Assistance: One Refugee will assist scholarship recipients with education-related expenses for the duration of the program. Assistance varies from student to student based on individual need and circumstances. Financial assistance may include funds to cover the costs of: Books Transportation Supplies Tutoring Additional education-related expenses Career Coaching: Scholarship recipients will enroll in Global Talent Idaho s job seeker program for comprehensive training and coaching on finding and securing student internships or post-graduation professional employment in the student s degree field. Active participation in the Global Talent Idaho program is required for the scholarship. Global Talent Idaho program includes: Help identifying career options Training and coaching to prepare professional resumes and cover letters Interview preparation and 1:1 career coaching Outreach to local employers GTI-hosted networking and mock interview events with employers and local professionals Duration of Program: Program and financial assistance will cover Spring Semester 2018. NOTE: For students currently enrolled in their junior year, there is an option to renew the scholarship for Fall Semester 2018. Requirements for renewal include at least a 2.5 GPA and active participation in Global Talent Idaho program.
Application Requirements/Timeline New Applicants Individuals interested in applying to One Refugee Education must fit the following criteria in order to be eligible: Individual from a refugee background (green card holder or US citizen) Junior of Senior enrolled in school full-time Pell-eligible FAFSA Idaho resident Minimum 2.5 GPA If candidates fit the above-mentioned criteria, they may apply to the program.
