Minutes from July 6, 2016 meeting. Jim Burns moved and Jim Vancura seconded a motion to approve the minutes as written. Motion carried. 2. Old Business A. CORE comments or concerns None. B. Desk Duty comments or concerns Jim Vancura reported that the computer has been upgraded to Windows 10, but is not yet communicating with the printer driver not available for Win 10. May need new printer, if so wireless would be good. C. Clients Not Yet Counseled current list down to 9. D. Website development Jim Vancura reported that the chapter is in the first phase of national s efforts, but timing is still unknown. Website design will be completed in the next couple of months. Would like to get some fresh local success stories for new site will talk to Jim Burns. E. Survey of luncheon Members have completed the survey, still being analyzed but no striking trends. A committee will be formed to work on next year s luncheon. Volunteers so far include Leland Smithson, Pat Gosnell, and Greg Christensen. 3. New Business A. New Members Vern Jackson recommended Julie Lammers membership. Seconded by Richard Bice, passed. B. Resignations Jim Finerty. C. Iowa City (ICAD) Boost Your Business on Facebook seminar. Will check at General Meeting for volunteers to staff a table/booth. D. Call Center Opportunity No response to email so our chapter will pass on participating. E. Social Media Initiative. Our chapter will continue to participate in social media program supported by national. Lots of metrics available. Will need a Linked In account. Will be moving emails to Constant Contact. Will be sending a calendar email before the start of the month, then only one reminder email for workshops. F. Volunteer at City Council meeting, noon August 9. Les Garner will be driving presentation on MICRO loan program, asking for additional funding. Greg will see if Mike Dulaney, who had first client get MICRO Loan, represent SCORE. G. Gilded Pear Gallery will be featured in the 2017 SBA Reference Guide. This is a nice honor as the guide is used all year around the country. Suzy McGrane- Hopp is pleased with the recognition. H. Marketing/Outreach No report. B. Training Membership. Vern Jackson had emailed the following written report: * Toby Stecklein has completed the SCORE Orientation and Training program. * Ryan Brems, Josh Streets, and Mark Johnson are in various stages of SCORE training. * John Baird has withdrawn from SCORE to focus on travel with his wife for the next 3 years or more. * Julie Lammers has completed the SCORE interview and will be recommended for membership in SCORE at the Executive meeting of the Chapter on August 3. Julie and her husband successfully established and operated the Coffeesmiths group of coffee houses prior to recently selling them to a national 'chain'. Craig Hanson has agreed to serve as her training mentor. * Speakers for the August 3 SCORE meeting. [Leland Smithson / Richard Bice] * Additions or deletions to the Recommended Business Service Companies and Professionals. * Discussion of a non-mentor role in our Chapter for 'SCORE Office Administration'. * Various quick steps to close existing SCORE Portal and move to new East Central Iowa SCORE site. * New SCORE member inputs for the SCORE Skills Matrix.
