It is in the best interest of the Government to not accept option year pricing under subject solicitation. DSCP will award a contract consisting of a base year and four (4) 12-month unpriced option periods. The following language is hereby incorporated into subject solicitation and any resultant contract(s). "The resultant contract will be for a base period and 4 option periods. The base period is a period of one year from date of award. Option year(s) are one year periods. The contractor is responsible for providing option prices for the subsequent option year 4 months prior to the expiration of the base period, and of any exercised option periods, for purposes of determining said option prices fair and reasonable. Negotiations may result upon evaluation of proposed option prices. Proposed option prices must be determined fair and reasonable prior to execution of the option. Exercise of any option is solely a unilateral decision by the Government. The potential duration of the procurement is five (5) years if all options are executed. If the vendor does not agree to the prices set by the unilateral modification executing an option period then the issue shall be subject to FAR clause 52.233-1 Disputes as incorporated by 52.212-4(d)."
