IN THE STATE COURT OF DEKALB COUNTY STATE OF GEORGIA ORDER OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR DIVISION VI PRETRIAL CONFERENCE AND CIVIL JURY CALENDAR Consolidated Pretrial Order filed by: July 24, 2017 Mandatory Pretrial Conference: July 31, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Trial Weeks: August 15, 2017, August 21, 2017, and August 28, 2017 This is a THREE WEEK Trial Calendar. All cases should expect to be reached during the week of trial. Cases may be called out of order as scheduling demands. Parties are directed to contact the Civil Case Manager, Summer Schmidt, at 404-687-7135 (slschmidt@dekalbcountyga.gov) regarding the calendar, trial matters and instructions. Parties must submit a CONSOLIDATED Pretrial Order by July 24, 2017 in conformity with Uniform State Court Rule 7.2. Failure to respond to this calendar, or to file the proposed Consolidated Pretrial Order, may result in the parties and/or their counsel being held in CONTEMPT and/or in the DISMISSAL of the complaint, answer, counterclaim, cross claim or third party, as appropriate. Lead Counsel is required to be present at the Mandatory Pretrial Conference on July 31, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. The Parties are instructed to discuss settlement options prior to the Pretrial Conference. Prior to trial, counsel shall make a good faith effort to resolve any objections in depositions to be presented at trial. All unresolved objections, together with argument and citations, shall be filed, with a copy to the Court, no later than five days prior to trial. Any objections not brought before the Court prior to trial shall be deemed waived. All Motions in Limine shall be filed on or before July 24, 2017. The parties are reminded to review the Court's STANDING ORDER as they prepare the proposed Consolidated Pre-Trial Order and in anticipation of their attendance at the Pre-Trial Conference. The removal of a case from the Pre-Trial/Jury calendar for any reason shall ONLY BE BY ORDER OF THE COURT AND MUST BE FILED WITH THE COURT BY JULY 26, 2017. A Motion for Continuance and/or Extension of Discovery must be by consent of all parties and a Consent Order submitted, at the same time as the Motion is filed with the Clerk of the Court.
