In 2018, UNCTAD will publish an updated study O Focus on WTO TFA related Committees O This study considers information from 59 country cases O Collected from January 2014 to May 2017 via a standardized questionnaire developed by UNCTAD
RESULTS OF THE STUDY
Number of Trade Facilitation bodies established per year
OBJECTIVES Decrease of 16 percentage points since previous study Increase of 8 percentage points since previous study, which stated "negotiate TF as an objective" There is a shifting of the importance of the objectives due to the functions that naturally appear since the signature of the Bali agreement. Increase of 7 percentage points since previous study
SCOPE
SCOPE The implementation of the TF measures of the future WTO agreement was only mentioned by 20% of Committees before end of 2013
SCOPE Results are similar to the previous study. New answers that gain importance are compared to previous study are: -Special advice on legal changes -Advice and promotion of TF standards and reforms -Search financing partnership and relationship with donors.

TARGET AUDIENCE & LANGUAGE The course is conceived for current and potential members of the NTFC, including its Secretariat and a high variety of public and private sector members. UNCTAD's Empowerment Program for NTFCs is available in English, French and Spanish. Other languages can be available upon request
CERTIFICATION After successful completion of UNCTAD's Empowerment Program, members of the National Trade Facilitation Committee will be granted an UNCTAD certification of completion. The empowered NTFCs will be featured in UNCTAD's online repository on NTFCs.

MAIN OBSTACLES New New New Main differences with the previous study: -Lack of financial ressources is still number 1 obstacle but goes from 23% to 28% -Lack of knowledge / awareness decreases from 12% to 4% -Frequent replacement of members or incorrect representation goes from 4% to 11% -Resistance to change or lack of work plan do not appear as main obstacles anymore -New obstacles include lack of regularity of meetings, lack of permanent secretariat and legal issues
