It only cost $15.00 for a single and $20.00 for a family. That really isn't much to keep your club going. If one is to look at our club roster it shows a sizable number of members but then you would realize that about half of them have not paid annual dues since 2015, 2016 or 2017. Please do your part and support HARA. Club Minutes November 01, 2018 HIAWATHA AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION page, 7 Officers present were: President: Lou Gembolis KG8NK; Vice-President: Rich Schwenke N8GBA and Treasurer: Mike Beltz KD8JIR. Secretary Fred Mouser KD8JIP was excused The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the Lou KG8NK. A motion to approve the agenda was made by Bill KC8EWD and supported by Greg KI8AF. The motion was approved. Introduction and Attendance: The Club had 11 members and 0 guests in attendance. (9 of the club members are also ARRL members). President's Report: Lou KG8NK reminded everyone that whenever you operate a radio you need a copy of your license on you, including in your vehicle and at club events. Secretary s Report: The minutes of October was printed out. A motion to accept the minutes as amended was made by Bill KC8EWD and seconded by Greg KI8AF. The motion was approved Treasurer s Report: Treasurer report for October was printed and submitted by Mike KD8JIR. A motion to accept the Treasurer s Report as submitted was made by Greg KI8AF and seconded by Ken KE8JDR. The motion was approved.

Club Minutes Cont., November 01, 2018 HIAWATHA AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION page, 8 Correspondence: We received one membership renewal and a letter concerning a grant competition. Committee Report A. Repeaters/Tech.- Paul KB0P stated the.91 repeater is still off the air. The 444.20 is active for anyone wanting to use it. The Grand Marias tower is going to be re-climbed and hopefully fixed, weather permitting. B. Ares/Races- Lou KG8NK stated New Training information is just about ready. C: PR Our club meeting time and location has been in the papers. D: Emergency Trailer Rich N8GBA reported on the grant and fundraising status. Old Business: A: Budget for next fiscal year Lou KG8NK reported the HARA board had passed a new budget. New Business: A: Club Inventory Lou KG8NK stated we will need to get the inventory updated this winter and next spring. Including the office, the storage unit and equipment at the 4 repeater sites. B: Ski Race Lou KG8NK stated Dave KD8DRF will be chairing the event. C: Sled Dog Race Paul KB0P is still expecting to chair the event, but

The new headquarter location is the Comfort Inn and Suites. D: Swap and Shop Lou KG8NK stated the date is the first Saturday of February (the 5 th ) and we need help setting up tables, in the kitchen, manning our table(s) and at the entrance. We need to sell the raffle tickets as well as get door prizes. This is our big fund raiser. It keeps our club afloat. We also need good amateur radio stuff for our table. Our budget for this year is approximately $3000.00 and our membership dues only bring in approximately $1500.00. These expenses don t include any major repairs to a repeater. We need you to sell the raffle tickets and solicit for door prizes. E: Cook out Fund Raiser Rich N8GBA stated HARA will be doing a $5.00 pulled pork sandwich lunch at Super One Foods on Friday, Nov. 9 th, from 11 to 4. Super One Foods will supply everything, we will man the operations and get the profits. We need help. F: Grant Competition Rich N8GBA and Mike KD8JIR reported we are in competition for a $3000 grant. There will be 5 other organizations competing and the one with the most donations wins the $3000. Each organization keeps their donations, so stop by and drop a few dollars into our bucket and maybe we ll come away with $3000. Please show up Nov. 7 th from 5 to 7 at the Ski Hall of Fame in Ishpeming and show your support.

Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Greg KI8AF and supported by Paul KB0P. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.
