If your NRA information on file is no longer current, go to the SCSC webpage, stcharlessc.com, and use the link to the NRA to get a discounted membership renewal rate, provide the updated information and include a copy of your new NRA membership card. NRA Membership Renewals Through December 31, 2018 an NRA life membership costs $600. It must be paid in full. The discounted annual rate is $30. The discounted 5-year membership rate is $100. The discounted rate can be used by your friends and family. We receive a commission on any transactions completed through our website. Get Your Gun Raffle Tickets Now Drawing on December 5 The Raffle features an AR Platform in the CHOICE of either a.223/5.56 cal OR.300 Blackout OR a Remington V3, 12ga Shotgun. St. Charles Sportsman s Club, Inc. Membership Meeting Minutes Wednesday November 7, 2018 President Frank Fruh called the meeting to order at 7:07 pm and led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance. Board members present were, Frank Fruh, Robert Douglas, John Estevez, Julie Morimoto, David George, Clay Starner, Mike Klein and Kendra McCourt. 1 st Vice President was not present 2 nd Vice President no report Range was closed before the meeting. Ed Winters stated that there was no paper towels nor toilet paper. Frank will speak with the Chef regarding the access to the range by Cintas. Secretary Report motion was made to accept minutes from October as published in the Recoil. Frank made mention of his President s corner article in the last Recoil stating he is offering a Slug gun sight in at his farm. Treasure submitted by Treasure and reviewed by President. Wildlife Report Due to rain, too much fresh water no Rockfish, only Bass are biting. Conservation no report Membership / Property No new member requests. Have received some funds from NRA. Wheat and Kale have been planted at the property in Welcome. Huntsmaster As of the November meeting. 4 does 105lbs and 1 buck 16 8pt @158 lbs have been harvested at the property. Deer are moving and lots of Turkeys are present. Publicity Sanders Lake had a charity shooting event. Ways and Means Still selling tickets. Reached out to past members about purchasing tickets Junior Rifle Will be submitting grant to NRA. They are growing and need assistance with the children to be able to run different shooting shifts. Looking for NRA shooting instructors, coaches or anyone interested in helping. They have 3 children that are almost ready for competition level shooting. Old Business Progress on the lot: all updated information and county requested documents have been submitted. It will be approximately a 30-45-day process. There are 2 members that are potentially interested in purchasing lots. The board has considered a possible member discount for purchasing a lot. Hall update: Frank has given 3 tours of the building. 1 possibly 3 interested parties. Frank has meet with the Chef bi weekly and received an update on contracts in hand and it s the highest in 18 years. New Business Robert discussed having a different type of raffle selling a few tickets at a higher price with lower limited amount of tickets for sale. Frank stated if any members knew of a place where SCSC could set up a table and sell raffle tickets and promote the club. The idea of hosting a gun show at the hall was put forth. We would need to contact local gun shops and see if they were interested in participating. Frank requested any members that can pay their dues early; it would be appreciated. Board Meeting Synopsis Wednesday November 21, 2018 Treasurer s Report Chuck Zublic Per our by-laws, funds collected from committee activities shall be turned in to the treasurer within 30 days of the event. Event paperwork must include a list of participants, their SCSC member number (or other affiliated club membership number), the amount paid, and the total income. The committee financial report must also include a detailed, itemized listing of all expenses, and must include receipts. Reimbursement will not be paid without supporting paperwork. SCSC Web Site Tony Barnett The annual club activities calendar can be viewed on our web site, stcharlessc.com. Contact Tony if you have any questions, comments or suggestions on our site. The club newsletter, Recoil, is available in the member section of the web site from January 2002 to the present. The latest Recoil is generally posted to the web site the weekend before the monthly meeting. Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed to download, read, and print the Recoil. Current Committee Activities Junior Rifle Matthew Noe/Michelle Klein SCSC Junior Rifle runs on the first Sunday of every month between 1 pm and 3 pm. This free program focuses on safety and marksmanship. Ear/eye protection, ammunition and a.22lr rifle are provided. Instructor Matt Noe encourages monthly attendance so shooters can build their marksmanship skills and progress through shooting positions and ranks. We are open to the public, but require the presence of an adult guardian during the training time. Huntsmaster Clay Starner When hunting on the Welcome Property, remember to sign-in at the shed and notify Clay with details about any game taken. Deer Season is in full swing, and so is the Rut!! So far, there have been 4 doe's and 2 very nice buck's taken at the Welcome Property. Here are pictures of the Buck's. I took my buck on 28 October and Derek Reynolds had taken his buck on 17 November. The gun season has recently started and runs 24 November-8 December and then we'll have 5 days of Archery season, then the Late Muzzleloader Season runs 15-29 December. The weather is pretty much seasonal and it is a great time to be out in the woods in search of the elusive Whitetail Deer! As a SCSC member, I understand I am executing this agreement on behalf of all included in the Family Membership as defined in the SCSC by-laws. I hereby certify by my signature hereon that I have never been convicted of a felony or any offense involving the use of firearms and have never had any hunting or fishing privileges suspended, except as explained on the attached sheet. I realize that any revelation of such conviction or suspension may result in my being expelled from the Club.
