Volume 48 February 2019 Issue 10 President s Corner Well, it has FINALLY happened.we have satisfied the County and they HAVE APPROVED our request for subdivision of three 3- acre building lots on the Welcome property!!! All that remains for us to do is to post the Forest Conservation area with supplied signs and get SELLING! The sale of even one of these lots will springboard our club into the act of seeking a zoning change to allow us to shoot on the property, improve the property and pursue a structure onsite also!! PLEASE let me know of anyone that may be interested in one or more lots! This is usually a slow time of the year for us, what with membership renewal just starting and such so, not much else going on (until we sell a lot!). We have great plans for this year to get us moving back to the large active group we once were. Please keep the recovery of Allan Harper (stroke) in your thoughts and prayers. Keep the faith! Sincerely, Frank Points of Interest to Members Welcome Property Subdivision APPROVED!! The County has signed-off and approved our request for three 3-acre lots to be cut-out of our Welcome Property. There are now three 3-acre lots bordering on Gunston Rd. near the Gunston Rd. back entrance to our property that are now available for sale to our membership at a reduced price. After 60 days (from Feb 1, 2019), the lots will be made available to the public for sale at a higher cost. We are working with our lawyer to prepare a covenants document to protect the Club and Club property so that any buyer is aware of our intended current/future sportsman related uses of the property and that they have no recourse against these current/future uses. Sales to members are planned to be conducted through a lawyer instead of a realtor. This direction is intended to save both parties on sales-related fees and costs. Please contact Frank Fruh or any Board member for more information or to relay contact information about any other interested parties. 2019 Membership Renewal Membership renewal has opened for 2019. Regular Membership renewal is $175 and Associate Membership renewal is $325. Please complete the form in this issue and include payment in full, check or money order, payable to St. Charles Sportsman's Club or SCSC. Mail it to the address on the form or bring it to the Membership Meeting. If your NRA information on file is no longer current, go to the SCSC webpage, stcharlessc.com, and use the link to the NRA to get a discounted membership renewal rate, provide the updated information and include a copy of your new NRA membership card. 1
