For an unlimited amount of time. The House of Representatives votes to determine the winner. The citizens of the United States have control over the government and show this control by electing representatives. The delegates were afraid that the federal government would abuse the citizens individual rights. Freedom to express your opinion and religion. Each branch of the government has specific controls over the other two branches. They broke the federal government into 3 branches; They detailed Checks and Balances for each branch; They gave certain powers to the state governments. If 2/3 of Congress and ¾ of the states agree to the amendment The government can force you to house a soldier during times of war. Citizens have the right to bear arms in order to form militias.

How does the Bill of Rights address unlawful search and seizures? What does it mean that American citizens are protected from double jeopardy? Citizens can t be tried twice for the same crime. Police are required to have probable cause in order to get a search warrant. The 21 st amendment repealed the prohibition amendment. They cannot be treated in cruel or unusual ways. It ended slavery in all parts of the United States. Right to a speedy trial, an attorney, not required to testify against yourself, trial by jury, trial will be held within the senate/ district in which it was committed, right to know what you re charged with, and right to confront witnesses. It gave 18 year olds the right to vote.
