The first incarnation of the site went live in April of 2009, two months following the passing of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) which included the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act). The HITECH Act was enacted to accelerate the federal initiative for adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHR) while allowing health care providers and hospitals to receive incentive payments for their adoption. Since inception, HITECH Answers has been a leader in providing analysis and commentary on health information technology issues. Led by in-house experts with support from a community of leading subject matter experts in the field, HITECH Answers has positioned itself as a highly respect and trusted voice in the Health IT industry. The CMS EHR incentives are a 5 year disbursement program and the start of the Federal initiative on EHR adoption.
