OFAP, as a member of IFNGO, would like to express its support to the new president of IFNGO, Mr. Garth Popple from the ANCD on this opportunity. Mr. Nuno Maria Roque Jorge, as the immediate past president of IFNGO, has also discussed with their Executive Director on the preparation on the upcoming IFNGO workshop which will be held in Manila this year in November. The meeting is a successful one and we express our welcome to support the new president for any further assistance. President of OFAP, Mr Nuno Maria Roque Jorge Participated in the 53 rd Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs 2010-03-12 Mr. Nuno Maria Roque Jorge participated in the 53 rd Session of the Commission on the Narcotic Drugs (CND) in Vienna, Austria on the 8 th -12 th March, 2010. This meeting aims to (continue) the discussion of the illicit drug traffic and supply and related measures, the countering money-laundering and promoting judicial cooperation to enhance international cooperation and the policy directives to the drug programme of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and strengthening the drug programme and the role of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs as its governing body, including administrative, budgetary and strategic management questions.

This can proof our tax-free status and would help us in the application for the ECOSOC status in the up-coming June.

President of OFAP, Mr Nuno Maria Roque Jorge Greets with Ms. Florinda Chan, the Secretary for Administration and Justice 2010-05 Mr. Nuno Maria Roque Jorge meets with Ms. Florinda Chan, the Secretary for Administration and Justice of Macau S.A.R. in May 2010. Mr. Nuno Maria Roque Jorge has presented her the latest process of the Application of the ECOSOC Consultative Status, in which she agreed in her continuation of support to OFAP. She is pleased to have OFAP. In the meeting, she also expressed the interest in our participation to the coming CTOC(Convention on Transnational Organized Crime) meeting in October this year. OFAP will be sending her the details of CTOC for her reference and keeps her updated. OFAP Organization of the Families of Asia and the Pacific Applies for the ECOSOC Consultative Status in United Nations 2010-05-30 OFAP has already finished its documents preparation for the application of ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) Consultative Status of the United Nations. The whole application process is turned in through the UN s new online system which consists of 24 questionnaires and our latest reports. The screening of OFAP s portfolio will be held in the end of this year the VNGOC s next meeting which will be held in either November or December. OFAP will be notified for any other missing documents before September. The President of OFAP, Mr. Nuno Jorge, is very happy to have the support of Ms. Mirella Dummar Frahi, the Civil Affairs Officer of the Civil Society Team of the United Nations. She has already presented us her supporting letter directly attended to Mr. Andrei Abramov, the Chief of DESA NGO Branch of the United Nations.

President of OFAP, Mr Nuno Maria Roque Jorge attended in the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs Meeting in Vienna 2010-06-25 Mr. Nuno Maria Roque Jorge attended the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs meeting in Vienna, Austria on the 22nd-25th June, 2010. Vienna NGO Committee meeting is held half a year to establish the links between different NGOs, this time, they have also the celebration for the International Day against Drug Abuse and agree to held the celebration in 2011 collaborate with the Elternkreis for their brilliant effort in support UNODC and the other members of the Committee for the preparation to commemorate all those affected by drug problems worldwide in Vienna. It has also discussed to give the opportunity for NGOs to contribute to the Global Village activities at AIDS2010, and NGOs are welcome to provide volunteers who would be able to organize and staff the booth on behalf of VNGOC. The next VNGOC meeting which will be held in either November or December this year would be the time to evaluate OFAP s application to ECOSOC. The main objective is to gather the workers in the field of HIV as well as policy makers, persons living with HIV and other individuals committed to ending the pandemic in order to share the latest situation of the pandemic and technology exchange, etc. This conference does not only reinforce the aims of objective of preventing the spread of HIV, but also discuss the challenges in facing the clearance of the stigma such as human rights, discrimination, sex education, and misguided policies, etc which are also known as the big obstacles in the field. The whole event was a great success with 19,300 participants who are willing to state out their contribution as goodwill to stop the spreading of AIDS.

President of OFAP, Mr Nuno Maria Roque Jorge visits Macao Foundation 2010-09-20 Greeting the New President of Macao Foundation, Mr. Nuno Jorge, the President of OFAP paid a visit to Dr. Wu Zhiliang on the 20 th September, 2010 at the Macao Foundation Headquarter. In the meeting, Mr. Jorge presents the latest publication of OFAP Making a Difference the report of Beyond 2008 published for the United Nations. They exchanged also the latest news and the upcoming plan of OFAP includes the Observatory and the application of ECOSOC. Dr. Wu shows the means to support OFAP in continue to contribute to the society. President of OFAP, Mr Nuno Maria Roque Jorge visits Dr. Vitor Ng 2010-09-22 Greeting the Immediate Past President of Macao Foundation, Mr. Nuno Jorge, the President of OFAP paid a visit to Dr. Vitor Ng on the 22 nd September, 2010 at the Macao Science Center. In the meeting, Mr. Jorge presents the souvenirs brought from United Nations Convention Center in Vienna. They exchanged also the latest news and the upcoming plan of OFAP includes the Observatory and the application of ECOSOC.

OFAP was invited to be one of the observer for the fifth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime 2010-11-22 OFAP was invited to be one of the observer for the fifth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime which was held in Vienna, Austria from 18 th 22 nd November, 2010. With the Invitation, OFAP has also invited Dr. Florinda Chan, the Secretary for Administration and Justice together with Dr. Grace Cheong, Chief of Office of the Office of the Secretary for Administration and Justice to be the other invited delegates of OFAP. However, due to some circumstances OFAP is regretted that they could not join us this time. Mr. Nuno Jorge, the President of OFAP, thus, registered to be the delegate to represent OFAP as the observer in the conference.

Especially the 4 th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the IAACA this time was held in Macau from 2 nd to 5 th November 2010. With the severe impact of the global financial crisis, this conference marks the importance of Anti- Corruption Roles between different governments in the Asia region, creating a fair and safe platform for business and economic development, as well as the cooperation of different parties internationally.

OFAP was successfully put into consideration of the application for Consultative Status by the Committee on NGOs 2010-11-18 OFAP received the notice of our consideration of the application for the Consultative Status by the Committee on NGOs on the 18 th November, 2010. The Committee on NGOs will meet in January the next. From now on, OFAP will go through a period of time to answer all enquiries on our accounts, history, activities, etc and make sure everything is clear to the committee. As a matter of fact that the Committee on NGOs meeting is not a complimentary meeting of OFAP, OFAP will reserve its right to choose not to go.
