Governance Committee, Eileen Welch, Sandy Liakus, Sandra Farley, Julia Runyan: The new By-laws: The SCMG officers of the board signed resolution 000-2019, stating the SCMG Board of directors adopt the March 17, 2019 bylaws. The SCMG officers of the board signed resolution 001-2019,'Board of Directors Resolution to Open a Bank Account' stating Eileen Welch, treasurer, will open a bank account for the SCMG organization in accordance with the March 17, 2019 bylaws. The new bylaws should be passed on an interim basis so Eileen can open a tax-exempt account with our tax number and new name. "Interim Basis" means that the general membership has 30 days to comment on the bylaws Will also use state by laws, minutes from board meeting, and signed directive forms to establish our identity with the state of New Mexico and open a new bank account. Eileen has resolutions forms for Board members to sign*** Eileen has the 501c3 tax number needed to open the account. We have NMSU's tax number for the NMMG Conference in 2018. General membership has 30 days to review bylaws and make comments. Survey Monkey will be used for general membership comments Board has 10 days to make changes and then approve it, we need to get it out to the general membership 2
Article I: Our new name is "New Mexico State University Sandoval Extension Master Gardener Chapter" (EMG). Article II : Purpose : no change Article III: Location is Sandoval county. Our official mailing address is: Sandoval County Master Gardener Program PO Box 400 Bernalillo, N.M. 87004 Article IV : SCMG Fiscal Year and Operating Year Fiscal year coincides with NMSU : Starts July 1 and ends June 30 Operating year does not change: starts October 1 and ends September 30 Article V : SCMG added more membership requirements than State Advisory Council bylaws require. Article VI : SCMG added requirements for emeritus MG status: Member in good standing for 15 years State bylaws required only a petition Article VII : Meetings of Membership Article VIII : Executive Board The executive board shall consist of 11 members: 4 officers plus 7 at large members. Two ex-officio members are also allowed: passed president and the Extension agent Our present board members are (12): Barbara Dawson,( ex-officio past president), Julia Runyan(P),Suzanne Bollenbach (VP), Lynda Garvin, (Agent),Eileen Welch (Treas.), Colleen Friel (Sec.) Fundraising: report by Julia Runyan: Julia Runyan has purchased 500 3.5"pots and labels for this year's plant sales First sale is on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Corrales Growers Market Second sale is April 30, Intern Graduation Party at Episcopal Church on Cabezon in Rio Rancho Joe Martinez is donating red worms to sell We purchased 2000 linear feet of 9'10" wide row cover. Row cover cost is $409.00 Row cover will be sold for $1.00/ foot in unit lengths of 10' and 20' We could realize an income of $2000.00 ; (less $409.00 = profit of $1592.00) We will also sell grow bags that are left over from last year. Julia needs a team of people to cut row cover to length. Volunteers will meet at Julia's house, Saturday, April 13, at 10:00 AM. The Task should only take 4

Project Reports Health Commons Garden, Lynda reporting: Third planning meeting meets tomorrow (March 20). Concrete skirt in front of building needs repair Skirt was cracked in the solar panel installation. Garden is ready to go, has list of supplies, Will start as soon as concrete skirt is repaired. Bernalillo Grower's Market: Annette Glore and Margaret Vedeler will head the project. Market will be on Fridays from 4-6 pm. They are working on their sign up calendar for website. Project will be coordinated with Lynda Garvin, who has oversight over these projects. Public outreach: Colleen Friel has put most of the special events on the SCMG website, some are pending. Tianna Baca at the Desert Oasis Training Center will provide table and two chairs for April 27 event. SCMG should bring their own chairs to the Desert Oasis Training Event, as we will have more than 2 persons at a time. Titia Velthamp of Butterfly Education and Awareness Day at Plant World June 1 from 9:00 to 2:00 pm. SCMG need to provide table and chairs for the Butterfly event. They they will provide canopy. We missed the deadline for full page ad in Corrales Comment Newspaper There are two chairs in admin office for master gardener use. New Business Bernalillo Growers Market: Annette Glore, MG, and ' Margaret ' will get Bernalillo Growers Market going. Market will on Fridays afternoon from 4:00 to 6 PM Annette and Margaret need to go through Lynda for forms and approvals Lynda reports there is a new 4H club starting up: Rio Rancho Rebels They are requesting seed money. We will also donate the unmarked water bottles we received in error when we ordered for the conference. 6

Motioned by Joe Martinez Motion seconded by Colleen Friel Motion passes unanimously Loma Colorado Library " Paint Your Own Planter: Jenna Wells, Adult Services Supervisor at Loma Colorado Library is asking SCMG to help with a "Paint you own Planter" workshop Workshop date: on May 15th at 6:00 PM. They will have potting soil and flower seeds for attendees to plant in the painted planters. Colleen will contact her and find out if she wants a speaker or a person to interact with questions and answers.
