It states that each member of the board, except the Secretary of Transportations, shall b: (a) an elected official who serves on the legislative authority of a city or as a mayor of a city within the boundaries of the authority; or (b) on the legislative authority of the county, if fifty percent of the population of the legislative official's district is within the authority boundaries; or (c) a county executive from a member county within authority within the authority boundaries. County Executive Dave Somers is pleased to recommend reappointment of Paul Roberts, Everett City Council Member, to serve a third four-year term on the Sound Transit Board of Directors to serve beginning January 2018 through December 2021. Mr. Roberts has served on the Board since 2007. His skills as former city administrator, public works director, planning director, and elected official provide value to the work of the Sound Transit Board of Directors.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY COUNCIL Snohomish County, Washington MOTION NO. 17-423 REAPPOINTMENT OF PAUL ROBERTS TO THE SOUND TRANSIT BOARD WHEREAS, the Snohomish County Council has recognized the critical need for public transportation involving high capacity transportation; and WHEREAS, RCW 81.112.040 provides for the process to make appointments to the Sound Transit Board; and WHEREAS, Paul Roberts, who has been serving in the Sound Transit Board of Directors since he was appointed by the County Council, seeks to serve a third fouryear term on the Sound Transit Board beginning January 1, 2018, and ending December 31, 2021; and WHEREAS, Paul Roberts, of the city of Everett, has been found well qualified to serve the Snohomish County community and the Sound Transit region in this capacity; and WHEREAS, the County Executive, Dave Somers, has recommended the reappointment of Paul Roberts to serve on the Sound Transit Board of Directors; NOW, THEREFORE, ON MOTION, the Snohomish County Council hereby reappoints Paul Roberts to represent Snohomish County on the Sound Transit Board for an additional four-year term beginning January 1, 2018, and expiring December 31, 2021.
