Transcription:

From the President Here we are still in a deep freeze, but take heart, Spring is waiting to make its grand entrance. Well, that s what I m hoping will happen on the 20 th!! A big THANK YOU to Chris Thompson for taking over the February meeting for me. I hope you plan to attend the March meeting as we will be covering some key items that have been discussed at the January and February meetings. To recap, we will vote by ballot as to whether our donation to Camp Courageous will be half of the homecoming money received, with a minimum of $1,000, or will remain at a fixed amount of $1,000. The other vote by ballot will be to decide who the new local charity will be for the Cruisin the Ave charity car show in June. The two nominated charities are The Catherine McAuley Center and Iowa Humane Alliance. As you remember we voted to replace Make-A-Wish as one of our four charities and I sent a letter to the president of Make-A-Wish Iowa telling him of our decision. I stated how proud we have been to be a part in helping them with the wonderful work they do making special wishes a reality. The car show co-chairs have been working hard and have the majority of the major sponsors signed up, but are still working on confirming others. Thank you to Mike Williams for being a co-chair last year. Mike has stepped down and Wayne Martin is now co-chairing with Dick Butschi and Bob Bitterman. Thanks Wayne for stepping up. You don t need me to remind you that the car show takes a lot of workers and it is a good feeling to see all the great help we get to make sure the show is a success. Just a reminder that if you are planning to go to the West Region banquet in Des Moines on Saturday, March 28 th, your reservation needs to be in by the 7 th. This is a good opportunity to get to better know the drivers that you met when they raced the autocrosses at Hawkeye Downs. I appreciate the effort that you all make as CRCC members when you participate in the events, dinners, cruises, etc. that are planned by Jim McLaughlin. At the same time if you have an idea for an event in 2015, please let Jim or me know. As I ve said many times, this is our club! One last thing, remember that Pat McGrath and John Baker are generously providing a meal for us at the March meeting. Please try to come earlier to enjoy the meal and socialize.
