MINUTES NORTH FRANKLIN SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS Monday, September 25, 2017 7:00 pm District Office Boardroom 1. CALL TO ORDER/FLAG SALUTE The meeting was called to order by Chair Booker at 7:00 pm with Mrs. Hailey, Mr. Fox, Mr. Utecht and Mrs. Walker present. 2. SET AGENDA ACTION Mrs. Walker moved, Mr. Fox seconded, to approve the agenda with an addition made to item 5. Motion passed. 3. RECOGNITION OF VISITORS Chair Booker welcomed those in attendance. 4. REPORTS A. Business Manager Report Mrs. Sital reviewed the Budget Status Report for August 2017. B. Board of Director Reports Mr. Utecht reported that he attended the Mesa Elementary Open House and it went well. Ms. Chamberlin reported that CHS homecoming week starts October 2 nd. She stated that in lieu of a parade on Wednesday of that week, they are doing an activity on the football field with carnival booths presented by each class. Ms. Flores reported that they had at least 50 girls turn out for the cheer clinic that was recently held. C. Superintendent Report Mr. Taylor provided information on GRIT, including the Finish term Sisu. D. Facilities/Maintenance Report Mr. Gregg reported on the Maintenance & Operations Department providing an overview of current staffing, work order process, supports, highlights for 2016-17 and summer planning and preparations. Mr. Gregg commended the Maintenance & Operations staff for all of their hard word in completing projects and keeping the district facilities and grounds looking great. Discussion ensued. 5. GENERAL DISCUSSION ITEMS A. Construction Updates Mr. Taylor spoke on the possibility of expanding the CHS wrestling room to help accommodate more space for practices. Discussion ensued. B. CHS Noble Fields Concession Building Bid Mr. Gregg presented the results of the bid tabulation for CHS Noble Fields Concession Building with the recommendation to accept the bid from MH Construction. Discussion ensued. Mr. Utecht moved, Mrs. Hailey seconded to approve accepting the bid from MH Construction for the Noble Fields Concession Building as presented. Motion passed. 5
C. Levy Mr. Taylor provided an overview of the changes the legislature recently made regarding school levies. He also provided an overview of historical rates and the new rate cap has been put in place. Discussion ensued. D. Calendar of Events 6.
