DECEMBER NEWSLETTER VOLUME 24 NUMBER 4 DECEMBER 2016 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Holiday Season Greetings, 2016 Fall Conference: Early in the fourth quarter we held our annual Fall Conference on October 5th. We had fifty-five attendees who gained information and insight from the seven speakers and six vendor exhibits that comprised this year s conference. The agenda had a balanced blend of technical presentations in the morning and organizational updates in the afternoon. The full agenda was included in our fall newsletter and we are planning to post several of the presentations on our MIHS website before the end of the year. Please take a moment to look at the speaker appreciation photos from this year s conference located o Page 2. New MIHS Website: Most years there is very little MIHS activity in the fourth quarter following our Fall Conference. However, this year was different, and perhaps you had noticed that our website was down most of the month of November. That s because the MIHS Executive Committee was involved in a major refresh of our ten year old MIHS Website. Hopefully, by the time you are reading this message, you already received an email from MIHS encouraging you to visit our new website, update your member profile page and establish your new password. Also, if you had not already done so, you can pay your 2017 membership dues using our improved PayPal link and payment process. As you navigate our new site, you may notice that there are several pages that still need some content uploaded or updated; we will be completing those tasks throughout the month of December. Again, please visit our new website and then provide your feedback to Eric Allen who heads our website operations team. 2017 Election: MIHS President Bill Kilgore The Holiday Season is known as a season of giving and this year I want to encourage you to consider giving some of your time, talents and efforts to benefit your fellow MIHS members. During the month of December we will be putting together our 2017 Ballot for open officer and board member positions. Every year the "offices" of President-elect, Treasurer and Secretary are open for candidates to pursue. Each officer position is for one year, however, the President-elect continues to serve for two more years as President and then Past President of MIHS. We also have four, two-year, openings for board of director positions on our 2017 ballot. This coming March, as I transition from the office of President to Past President, I look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you to our leadership team at MIHS. Please let me, Eric Allen or Aaron Jacob know if you are interested in serving or if you have questions regarding any of the positions.
