Fruits and Vegetables for FY2015 Dr. Ayala discussed with the board regarding snacks for the students at Prairie Oak, Jefferson and Lincoln due to not being part of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program this year directed by the state. If we provided snacks twice a week for each school, it will be a cost of over $110,000 which this cost has not been projected in the budget. However, it was suggested by Ms. Dee Koehler that since the state has required that the Breakfast program add a snack to the meal, the snack could be saved and given to the students later in the day and if we encourage parents to send a snack to school with their child. This communication would be put in the registration packets and also given to parents during the Back to School Festival on August 23, 2014. C. Construction/Renovation Project Update Information was provided concerning the wireless and office structural renovation. All of the projects are scheduled to be completed before the start of school. 1. Wireless project is running smoothly, there has been great communication and support from the contractors and our custodial staff. 2. Prairie Oak painting looks beautiful and we are near completion.
14876 14876 3. Havlicek classroom floor tile was evaluated by a company to see why there was moisture which was delaying the tile to be laid. This should be resolved and completed before school starts. 4. Lincoln floor was evaluated and it has been discovered that the drinking fountain was causing the floor to have moisture which kept the tile from being put down. Since this fountain is not being used by students it will be removed early next week so that the work can be completed. D.
