NEW BUSINESS 5. ONGOING BUSINESS 5.1. Park User Fees and Charges W. Schmid provided a comparison of municipal park revenues. 5.2. Finances No update. 5.3. Park Projects for 2017 5.3.1. Concession Stand Implementation W. Schmid reviewed the drawings of the pavilion for the construction of a concession stand with the Town s Chief Building Official and Fire Chief. The proposed stand would need architect s approval, BBQ s would have to be situated in an area without a roof covering, and it would have to be Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliant.

MEETING MINUTES Monday, July 24, 2017 Page 2 Committee discussed the option of a transportable, pre-fab concession stand kiosk which was presented by W. Schmid and C. O Regan. W. Schmid and C. O Regan will review specifications and costs associated with a transportable, pre-fab concession stand kiosk for the next meeting. C. Walker has contacted the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit regarding the proposed stand and is waiting for their reply. 5.3.2. New Picnic Tables Purchase W. Schmid noted that the new picnic tables have been assembled and transported to the park. Thank you to B. Kruger, R. Doty and Jay Gefucia (Canadian Tire - Bracebridge) and the Town s Public Works crew for their involvement in getting the new tables. 5.3.3. Tree Planting 5.4. Park Maintenance C. Willard will review aerial photos of the park and the upcoming final Recreation, Parks and Trails Master Plan, as well as some past Muskoka Conservancy suggestions for future tree planting designated areas. B. Kruger noted a memorial tree he sponsored has been removed from the lower level of the park. C. Willard and T. Goltz-Smellie to collaborate on creating a memorial tree inventory. 5.4.1. General Committee was pleased with the overall park maintenance by Absolute Landscape and Design Ltd. Staff will follow-up with the contractor regarding the gates being left open after hours on occasion. 5.4.2. Iron Fence Repair W. Schmid confirmed JSW Manufacturing will be repairing the iron fence in 1-2 weeks. 5.4.3. Drainage W. Schmid surveyed the park s upper level drainage issues and these will be corrected in the Fall 2017. Committee discussed further drainage issues in the park s lower level. W. Schmid to contact Absolute Landscape and Design Ltd. to aerate the lower level once the terrain is drier.

Park Activities MEETING MINUTES Monday, July 24, 2017 Page 3 5.5.1. 55 th Annual Muskoka Arts and Crafts Summer Show Committee discussed issues such as parking, weather conditions, terrain and overuse of the park. Chair M. Quemby and D. Smith will meet to discuss future events and present ideas relevant to park use and impact to the Committee at the next meeting. 5.5.2. Park Bookings 6. CORRESPONDENCE Committee reviewed the park bookings for July and August 2017 and noted concerns of overuse for the remainder of the park s season due to the grounds under repair. C. O Regan to provide noise exemption guidelines in regards to decibel levels and the Noise Control By-law. W. Schmid to install snow fencing to prohibit use of the park s lower level as the terrain is repaired. 6.1. Annie Williams Memorial Park Advisory Committee Minutes May 29, 2017 7. CLOSED SESSION 8.
