We would like to thank the following people, businesses, and organizations which contributed to the success: o Kohl s Hard Heads Program/Children s Hospital of Pittsburgh for donating 100 helmets. o Brentwood Express and Brentwood Giant Eagle for their food donations. o Brentwood Volunteer Fire Department for allowing us the use of their facility and cooking. o Brentwood EMS for helping to fit helmets. o Dr. Jack Vazzana and Marilyn Ippolito for volunteering their time with bicycle repairs and inspections. o Brentwood School Resource Officer Jason LaGamba for assisting. o Officer Scott Davidson for coordinating the activity and planning. o The Brentwood Borough Desk Clerks and Police Officers for donating the 2 bicycles which were raffled off at the end of the event. The first two high school football games had no reported incidents to our department. On 8.19.16 Mayor Troy, Chief Zeppuhar, Officer Heynes, and Assistant Manager Eric Peccon conducted a CLEAN-UP Detail on Elton Avenue, Hurston Way, and Dalewood Avenue. There were multiple positive interactions with residents. There were no signs of criminal activity and 12 violations were discovered. On 8.27.2016 Officer Swick attended a training A Bullet Proof Mind instructed by the Lt. Col. David Grossman. On 8.30.16 Mayor Troy, Chief Zeppuhar, Officer Davidson, and Assistant Manager Eric Peccon, Code Enforcement Officer Costa conducted a CLEAN-UP detail on West Bellecrest Avenue and Brentwood Avenue. There were multiple positive interactions with residents. No signs of
criminal activity were noted and 25 code violations were discovered. One of the violations was a potential traffic safety concern which was promptly addressed. On 9/7/2016 Officer Heynes responded to an address on Brownsville Road for an EMS assist. While on-scene he observed a semi-automatic rifle. The resident was later determine to be a person who is not to possess a firearm. The firearm was subsequently seized and a warrant was issued for the resident s arrest. As a reminder we will be hosting a Car Seat Safety Check on September 24. Note that an appointment is necessary. For further details see the attached flier at the end of this report.
