(2) Approve the two additional Dumpster Days in District 4 on April 30, 2016 and May 14, 2016, as City Council sponsored Special Events and approve the expenditure of funds. (3) Approve and accept donations from various individuals, (4) Place the item on the April 12,2016 Council Agenda for action. (Housing/Police) (a) Accept the staff report on the Crime Free Multi-Housing community and stakeholder outreach and engagement meetings. (b) Accept staff recommendations to develop and implement the Safe Communities Multi-family Housing Pilot Program as an alternative to the Crime Free Program. (c) Direct staff to present the Safe Communities Multi-family Housing Pilot Program to the Public Safety, Finance and Strategic Support Committee. Public Comments: Nadia Aziz, Law Foundation of Silicon Valley expressed support to the Staff recommendations and offered assistance to educate property managers and tenants about rights. David Wall criticized the Staff recommendations. Motion: Council Member Johnny Khamis moved approval of the Staff recommendations. Vice Mayor Rose Herrera seconded the motion. Captain Lloyd Kimball, Special Operations and Crime Prevention Supervisor Esther Mota responded to Committee questions and concerns. Action: On a call for the question, the motion carried unanimously, the Committee accepted the Staff report and recommendations. Staff was directed to present the Safe Communities Multi-family Housing Pilot Program to the Public Safety, Finance and Strategic Support Committee. (5-0.) H.
