, Draft - Meeting Minutes Monday, January 9, 2017 Village Hall Council Chambers I. Call to Order Commissioner Kohn called the meeting to order at 7:11 PM. Roll Call Present: Absent: Rebecca Kohn, Mario Rizzotti, Paul Kramer, Mary Koleff-May, Karen Holmes, Lieutenant Lawrence Martin and Trustee Craig Klatzco Carole Oraha, Myra Foutris I Approval of Minutes Commissioner Rizzotti moved to approve the minutes of December 12, 2016 Human Relations Commission meeting. Commissioner Koleff-May seconded. The motion was unanimously approved. a. Turkey Trot Nov 20 th HRC sponsored a water station. b. Prospective Fall/Winter Event Iron Chef-style Cook-off Competition - February 11, 2017 from 6:30 PM 10:00 PM at the Community Center. The Commission requested that staff post the information on all social media accounts. Commissioners are encouraged to invite friends and family. The flyer was reviewed. Commissioner Rizzotti prepared a list of tasks and asked Commissioners to volunteer. c. Human Relations Commission Award No applications have been received. Lt. Martin will prepare an article for the next Connections Newsletter. V. New Business Community Service Officer Mark Weidner will distribute the food collection boxes. Food donations will be collected and delivered to the Niles Township food pantry.
Public Forum Deborah Keegan of the Lincolnwood Library distributed the Lincolnwood Library winter magazine. All are invited to attend the February 19, 2017 grand opening ceremony at 1:00 PM. , Draft Special Meeting Minutes Thursday, February 2, 2017 Police and Fire Training Room I. Call to Order Commissioner Kohn called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM. Roll Call Present: Absent: Rebecca Kohn, Paul Kramer, Mary Koleff-May, Karen Holmes, Carol Oraha Chief Robert LaMantia, Lieutenant Lawrence Martin, Trustee Craig Klatzco Myra Foutris, Mario Rizzotti, I a. Iron Chief Cook-off February 11, 2017 from 6:30 10:00 PM at the Community Center. A list of participating restaurants and vendors was distributed. Commissioners were asked to assist with the event by posting three flyers at various establishments, bringing at least three people and arriving at 5:30 PM to help with set-up. b. Superintendent of Recreation, Katie Gamroth-Smith has been instrumental in setting up the Community Center. All electronic payments will be handled through the Village website. c. Management Analyst Heather McFarland has posted the Iron Chief flyer on the Village website, and social media pages. No Report V. Staff Report a. Chief LaMantia reported that the Village of Morton Grove recently had a peaceful public assembly at a local mosque. It was estimated that over 1,500 people attended. The Lincolnwood Sacred Learning Center at 3900 Devon Avenue will be open later this year. b. Chief LaMantia distributed a flyer titled, No Room for Hate. It has been posted around Lincolnwood.
