Regions Note in 2017: The population has i n c r e a s e d b y 533,4 thousand people. The number of live births was 715,5 thousand children. 161,5 thousand deaths w e r e registered. State Committee of The Republic Of Uzbekistan On Statistics Demographic situation (preliminary data) January-December 2017 Resident population: As of January 1, 2018, the resident population of the Republic of Uzbekistan was 32653.9 thousand people and in the course of 2017 increased by 533.4 thousand people or by 1.7%. In particular, the urban population was 16533.9 thousand people (50.6 % of the total population), the rural population - 16120.0 thousand people (49.4 %). In terms of the regions of the Republic as of January 1, 2018, the largest population was observed in the Samarkand region, 3719.6 thousand people (the share in the total population of the republic is 11.4 %), in the Fergana region, 3620,1 people (11, 1 %), in Kashkadarya region 3148.1 thousand people (9.6 %) and in the Andijan region, 3011.6 thousand people (9.2 %). As of January 1, 2018, in 4 regions of the country the resident population has more than 3 million people. Birth rate. In 2017, 715.5 thousand children were born, respectively, the birth rate per 1000 population was 22.1 per mille and, compared to the same period in 2016, decreased by 0.7 per mille (in 2016, 22.8 per mille). The birth rate in comparison with the same period in 2016 in the Surkhandarya region increased (from 25.7 per mille to 25.9 per mille), a sharp decline was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (from 21.9 per mille to 20.7 per mille), in the Fergana region (from 22.2 per mille to 21.0 per mille), in the Tashkent region (from 20.3 per mille to 19.2 per mille), in the Khorezm region (from 22.2 per mille to 21.0 per mille), in the Bukhara region (from 20.9 per mille to 20.0 per mille) and in the Djizhak region (from 24.5 per mille to 23, 6 per mille). Birth by birth order of mothers,% In 2017, the number of children born was 715.5 thousand and was distributed by the age of the mother at the time of birth 280.8 thousand (39.2 %) at the age of 20-24, 248.1 thousand (34.7 %) in age 25-29 years, 122.3 thousand (17.1 %) at the age of 30-34 years.

Mortality. In 2017, 161.5 thousand deaths were recorded, respectively, the death rate was 5.0 per mille and increased compared to the same period in 2016 at 0.1 per mille (in 2016, 4.9 per mille). In comparison with the same period in 2016, the death rate significantly increased in the Andijan region (from 5.1 per mille to 5.4 per mille), in the Djizhak region (from 4.2 per mille to 4.4 per mille), in the Kashkadarya region (from 4.1 per mille to 4.3 per mille), in Namangan region (from 4.7 per mille to 4.9 per mille), in the Fergana region (from 4.8 per mille to 5.0 per mille) and Surkhandarya region (from 4.3 per mille to 4.5 per mille). Total deaths: 161,5 thous. Women: 73,5 thous. Men: 88,0 thous. Of the total number of deaths, 8.2 % died at an age below working age (8.0 % in 2016), 27.6 % died at working age (2016, 28.5 %), 64.2 % died at the age of above working age (63.5 % in 2016). The number of deaths in 2017 compared to 2016 increased by 6.7 thousand people, most, that is, 74.6 % of them account for the died at the age of 60 years and older. Of the total number of registered dead in 2017 59.9 % died from cardiovascular diseases, 9.3 % from neoplasms, 6.5 % from accidents, poisoning and injuries, 5.7 % of diseases of the digestive system, 4.8 % of respiratory diseases, 1.7 % of infectious and parasitic diseases and 12.1 % from other diseases. Of the total number of registered deceased children aged up to 1 year, 56.4% died of conditions originating in the perinatal period, 21.1 % from respiratory diseases, 11.9 % from congenital anomalies, 3.5 % from infectious and parasitic diseases, 1.9 % from accidents, poisoning and injuries, 0.5 % from diseases of the digestive system, 4.7 % from other diseases. Marriage: 306,0 thous. Marriage. During the period from January to December 2017, the registry offices registered 306,0 thousand marriages. In the republic, the marriage rate per 1000 population was 9.4 per mille. Growth of registered marriages compared to 2016 was observed in the Surkhandarya region (126.6 %), in the Djizhak and Namangan regions (115.9 %), in the Samarkand region (112.3 %), and in the Kashkadarya region (111.2 %). Divorces. During the period from January to December 2017, the registry office registered 31.9 thousand divorces. In the republic, the divorce rate per 1000 population was 1.0 per mille. As of January 1, 2018, the resident population of Tashkent city, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan was 2465.6 thousand people and in the course of 2017 increased by 41.5 thousand people or by 1.7 %. In 2017, 43.8 thousand children were born, respectively, the birth rate per 1000 population was 17.9 per mille and, compared to the same period in 2016, decreased by 0.3 per mille (in 2016, 18.2 per mille). In 2017, 16.4 thousand deaths were recorded, from them 0.7 thousand was infant mortality. The death rate was 6.7 per mille and, compared to 2016 decreased by 0.2 per mille (in 2016, 6.9 per mille) Natural increase in the population of the capital was 27.4 thousand people and compared to 2016 was not changed (in 2016, 27.4 thousand people). In 2017, civil registry offices registred 19.2 thousand marriages and 3.6 thousand divorces. The marriage rate per 1000 population was 7.9 per mille and, compared to 2016, was not changed (in 2016, 7.9 per mille). The divorce rate per 1000 population was 1.5 per mille and compared to 2016 decreased by 0.3 per mille (in 2016 1.8 per mille).

Migration. In 2017, the number of immigrants was 157.1 thousand people (155.0 thousand people in the territory of republic and 2.1 thousand people from abroad), and the number of emigrants 177.7 thousand people (155.0 thousand people in the territory of republic and 22.7 thousand people to foreign countries). The balance of migration was minus 20,6 thousand people and compared to 2016 decreased by 5,6 thousand people.
