Legislative Assembly Province of Alberta No. 30 VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS Fourth Session Twenty-Seventh Legislature Thursday, April 28, 2011 The Deputy Speaker took the Chair at 1:30 p.m. The Deputy Speaker offered a prayer and a moment of silence was observed in recognition of people killed or injured in the workplace. Ministerial Statements Hon. Mr. Lukaszuk, Minister of Employment and Immigration, made a statement recognizing April 28, 2011, as the National Day of Mourning. Hon. Mr. Hancock, Government House Leader, requested and received the unanimous consent of the Assembly to waive Standing Order 7(1.1) in order to complete Ministerial Statements. Mr. MacDonald, Hon. Member for Edmonton-Gold Bar, commented on the statement. The Deputy Speaker requested and received the unanimous consent of the Assembly to allow additional Members to comment on the Ministerial Statement. Mr. Anderson, Hon. Member for Airdrie-Chestermere, Ms Notley, Hon. Member for Edmonton-Strathcona, and Mr. Taylor, Hon. Member for Calgary-Currie, then commented on the statement. Members Statements Ms Woo-Paw, Hon. Member for Calgary-Mackay, made a statement regarding Dr. Lorne Tyrrell, who will be inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame on April 28, 2011.

Ms Blakeman, Hon. Member for Edmonton-Centre, on behalf of Mr. Hehr, Hon. Member for Calgary-Buffalo, made a statement regarding the Western Cup, hosted by the Calgary lesbian, bisexual, gay, and transgender community, held in Calgary from April 21-23, 2011. Hon. Mr. Hancock, Government House Leader, requested and received the unanimous consent of the Assembly to waive Standing Order 7(7) in order to complete the Daily Routine. Mr. Allred, Hon.
