GEORGIA COMMUNICATOR July 2018 Volume 44 Issue 1 President s Points We are at the half way point of this Senate year. There are several opportunities for you to participate in Senate activities and to see your Senate friends before the year is over. Thanks to Mike Carter #44482 for a job well done on the Senate social. Those who attended the event in Warner Robins were able to enjoy visiting with past Jaycee members (and Senators) of the Warner Robins Jaycees as they held their annual reunion meeting. We were also fortunate to induct a new Senator at this meeting. Welcome to our newest Senator, Greg Edenfield. We also hosted our US JCI NVP, Marty Wase #53142, at the social. We look forward to seeing NVP Marty again real soon. I am sure that all Senators are aware of a change in our meeting location for the January meeting. We will be meeting along with the Georgia Jaycees for their year-end meeting. The meeting has been moved from Milledgeville to Statesboro. Thanks to Senator Ron Cowart #62241/L74 for all the work put in on the meeting location. The meeting will be January 19, 2019. Hospitality will of course begin on January 18 th. Please be sure to participate in the raffle conducted by our Senate this year. Tickets are $100 each and are limited to a mere 300 to be sold. Don t miss out on this exciting opportunity to win big! Also please note that this raffle will take the place of the reverse raffle normally held at the Jekyll Island meeting. The raffle drawing will be held at the Moose Club in Warner Robins on April 20, 2019 (you don t have to be present to win but why miss out on all the fun?!). Contact Senator Thomas Michael #76512 for further information on the raffle and how to obtain your tickets. Thank you again for your participation and interest in the activities of the Georgia Jaycee Senate. Hope to see you all in Statesboro or other various locations around our state. GO DAWGS!!!! Mandi Howard #62767 President Georgia JCI Senate

From the Chairman of the Board My how time flies!!! Half of the 2018-2019 Ga JCI Senate year is already complete. We still have a lot of things to complete during the second half of this Senate year. We will be joining the Georgia Jaycees in Statesboro January 18-20, 2019. Let s send a good crowd of senators to Statesboro to show our support for the Georgia Jaycees. USJCI Senate Region IV National Vice President Marty Wase #53142 is scheduled to join us in Statesboro. Let s be sure to show Marty some good ole Georgia hospitality There are several events/meetings taking place over the coming months. The USJCI Senate Winter Board meeting will be held January 24-27, 2019 in New Orleans. We should have a good delegation from Georgia in attendance. The Region 7 / Mini-National Meeting will be February 21-24, 2019 in Pigeon Forge. The Calabash Beach Bash / Region IV Year End Meeting will be held April 4-7, 2019 at the Dayton House in Myrtle Beach. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS EARLIER IN APRIL THAN NORMAL. Again, I am certain there will be quite a few Georgia Senators in Myrtle Beach. The GA JCI Senate Fundraiser will be held at the Moose Club in Warner Robins on April 20, 2019. The last ticket drawn will win $10,000. Tickets for the drawing/event are $100 each. Admin VP Mike Carter #44482 and Thomas Michael #76512 are in charge of the drawing. If you won t be in Statesboro and are interested in purchasing a ticket, you can reach out to Mike, Thomas or myself. Our year end meeting will be held May 2-5, 2019 at the Villas By The Sea on Jekyll Island. I look forward to seeing everyone at one of the meetings/gatherings above. If you have any questions about Senate functions or need assistance with anything, please do not hesitate to contact me. Look forward to seeing everyone in Statesboro. Business card size ads are $25.00 for a year and that is a great deal! Sincerely, Sherri D Carmack #76531 Secretary

Dear Lord Chaplain s Conversation Please remember those that have lost loved ones this past year. We have lost so many fine family and friends it is often hard to deal with especially during the holidays, I know all to well what that is like. Once you lose someone dear to your heart it feels like all is lost but, it is not. Remember Christ died for us and for those that moved on so they will live again and so will you. You will one day be with them and walk those streets of gold together forever. During those sad times keep your thoughts of the good times and smile because; they love you and so does God. Your Ad could be here. For $25, you could have a business card sized ad for the rest of the year. This ad will be seen by Senators all over the State as well as nationally.
