PRESIDENT S MESSAGE BREMC, August seems to have gone by rather quickly for me, how about you? Fall will be here soon and so will some wonderfully cooler weather making our European cars even more inviting especially for those who like to go topless. Last month we were searching for someone to pull together our support of the Euro Wine Tour. Iverson Smith and Ivars Lillestein have accepted the challenge!!. Thank you much for continuing our club tradition of organizing these tours for the past several years. I suspect further that these guys will be looking for club members to support them in whatever means they need. Please let them know you are willing and available. I missed the latest Saturday morning Cars and Coffee at Lily Bean in Shelby. (Lynn and I went to shagging territory in Cherry Grove. and saw some smooth footed, slick soled, fun loving folks) I heard there were 7 or 8 cars at LIly Bean and those cars also brought their drivers with them. If others get the chance to visit downtown Shelby on Saturday mornings, come on. However, remember, our membership is spread beyond Shelby and other venues would be just as exciting. Let me know, or better yet, let us all know so we can drive beyond Shelby. (hint) Drive em! DAVID WILSON PASS THE GIFT FUNDRAISER Editor s Note: David Wilson is the son-in-law of Club members Iverson and Libby Smith. David is the son of Sam and Myra Wilson, Wilson Real Estate. The fundraiser was started several years ago when David was diagnosed with ALS. His high school classmates and friends started the event to help David and his family. Today, as the letter indicates, they are passing the gift to others who face adversity and health related challenges that none of us could ever understand. Over the years, the Club has been one of the quiet sponsors of this event. The Rear View Mirror Broad River European Motor Club Visit us on the web at www.broadriveremc.com Page 4 of 5
