REORGANIZATION MEETING TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE JANUARY 7, 2015 John Stanzione called to order the of the of the Township of Deerfield, County of Cumberland and State of New Jersey, at the Municipal Building, 736 Landis Avenue, Rosenhayn, at 7:00 p.m. The Clerk called on Solicitor Michael Testa to swear in Frank Spatola as Member. The Clerk took roll call and the members present included Mr. Sparacio (via cellphone) Mr. Laurella, Mr. Spatola, Mr. Danna, Mr. Stanzione. Mr. Stanzione led the flag salute. Mr. Laurella made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spatola, to appoint Karen Seifrit, Clerk, as Temporary Chairperson. Roll Call Vote: Mr. Laurella Yes Chairperson Stanzione Yes Mr. Laurella made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spatola, to open the floor for nominations for Mayor. The Committee approved. 2015. Mr. Danna nominated Cosmo Laurella for Mayor of Deerfield Township for There being no further nominations, Mr. Danna made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spatola to close the nominations for Mayor. The Committee approved. Mr. Spatola made a motion, seconded by Mr. Danna, to appoint Cosmo Laurella, as Mayor of Deerfield Township for the year 2015. Roll Call Vote: Mr. Laurella Yes Chairperson Stanzione Yes Solicitor Testa swore in Cosmo Laurella as Mayor of Deerfield Township for the year 2015. Mr. Stanzione made a motion, seconded by Mr. Mr. Spatola, to open the floor for nominations for Deputy Mayor. The Committee approved. Mr. Spatola nominated John Stanzione for Deputy Mayor of Deerfield Township for 2015. There being no further nominations, Mr. Spatola made a motion, seconded by Mr. Danna, to close the nominations for Deputy Mayor. The Committee approved.

Page Two Mr. Spatola made a motion, seconded by Mr. Danna, to appoint John Stanzione as Deputy Mayor of Deerfield Township for the year 2015. Roll Call Vote: The Clerk called on newly elected County Clerk Celeste Riley to swear in Mr. Stanzione as Deputy Mayor for 2015. Mayor Laurella thanked all the Committee for giving him the opportunity to be Mayor again this year. Mayor Laurella recognized several members of the audience including County Clerk Celeste Riley, Freeholder Carol Musso, Former Committeeman Robert Montgomery and Former Mayor Anthony Stanzione. Mayor Laurella also welcomed back to the Committee, Frank Spatola and new Committeeman, Joseph V. Sparacio. Mayor Laurella noted several projects that were completed in 2014 including the planting of new bushes outside the municipal building with the help of the Boy Scouts, new security cameras around the building for the safety of everyone and a road grant for the resurfacing of Cedar Street. Mayor Laurella noted projects for 2015 which will include the purchase of a new rescue truck for the fire company. He also noted that our fire company does a wonderful job and are always available day and night. Mayor Laurella stated that in 2015 the Township would be looking at selling the old Carmel Fire Hall, maintaining our current Shared Service Agreements and looking for more grants for road maintenance. He further stated that in a few weeks the Committee would begin working on the 2015 Budget. Mayor Laurella indicated that the Committee will do its best to maintain the current tax rate and asked that residents look at their tax bills and see where their money is going and that a large part of that money goes to the County and schools. He further indicated that the Township needs to move forward and not backward. Mayor Laurella thanked all the part-time employees (paid and volunteers) and all the professional staff. Mayor Laurella also thanked his wife, Doris, for all her years of patience while he served on the School Board and. Presentation of Resolutions and Oaths of Office: 1.
