Glen Ullin School District #48 Regular School Board Meeting SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES APRIL 8, 2015 Vice President Sandra Gerving called the meeting to order at 7:09 pm in the Glen Ullin School District Library. A roll call was taken of board members present: Dana Gerving, Matt Kuhn, Shawn Dziuk, Sandra Gerving, and Lisa Gerving were in attendance. Andrew Peltz and Carrie Gerving were absent. Also present were Superintendent-John Barry, Principal-Pete Remboldt, and Business Manager-Denise Georgeson. Guest present was Nancy Bittner. With the following addition to the agenda: 6-H Corsica and 6-I Drivers Ed, a motion was made by Shawn Dziuk, seconded by Dana Gerving, to approve the agenda. Motion unanimously carried. A motion was made by Dana Gerving, seconded by Lisa Gerving, to approve the regular board meeting minutes of the March 11, 2015. Motion unanimously carried. Motion unanimously carried. IV) REPORTS AND INFORMATION The Superintendent s report, the Secondary Principal s report, and Elementary report, were presented. The Athletic Director, Mr. Remboldt, gave a report to the board. Lisa Gerving moved, Dana Gerving seconded, to accept the resignation of Paul Sayler as Track Coach for the 2014-2015 school year; to hire Phil Weldele, of Hebron, as Track Coach for the 2014-2015 school year; to accept the resignation of Phil Weldele as Golf Coach for the 2014-2015 school year; and to accept the resignation of Pete
Remboldt as JH Track Coach for the 2014-2015 school year. Motion unanimously carried. V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. CO-OP MEETING: A Glen Ullin/Hebron Sports Co-op meeting is tentatively scheduled for April 29, 2015 at 7 pm in Hebron. B. ACTIVITY BUS: Superintendent Barry presented bid information from Vendors. After the board viewed the information, some questions were unaddressed. Mr. Barry will bring more information to the May board meeting. C. NEGOTIATION MEETING: The Negotiation Committee met April 2, 2015. They have scheduled a meeting on April 15, 2015. If Negotiations are concluded on April 15, 2015, there will be a Special Board meeting April 16, 2015 at 7:00 pm. VI. NEW BUSINESS A. UPDATE OF PROJECTS: Superintendent Barry gave an update on completed projects and projects still in progress. B. AFTER PROM DONATION: Lisa Gerving moved, seconded by Matt Kuhn, to approve the budgeted donation to After Prom of $150.00. Motion unanimously carried. C. ATHLETIC DIRECTOR: Principal Remboldt recapped the Golf and Track-Spring Sports for the school board. D. COMPLIANCE CRITERIA: The Elementary school has met approval/annual compliance criteria. E. FACILITIES UPDATE: Superintendent Barry gave an update on the school improvements. F. BUSINESS MANAGERS ACCOUNTING UPGRADE: The consensus of the school board was to approve the cost of the Accounting Upgrade to 4.0. G. FBM MEETING: A Farm Business Management Meeting is scheduled for April 23, 2015 at 8 pm to be held at the Glen Ullin School. H. CORSICA: The consensus of the school board was to put the 1990 Corsica up for bids with a $200.00 minimum bid. I. DRIVERS ED: Dana Gerving moved, seconded by Lisa Gerving, to hire Mrs. Sara Reinbold of Hebron to be the summer Drivers Education Instructor, at $35.35 per hour, for 30 hours of classroom instruction and the behind the wheel portion. Motion unanimously carried. The next Regular Board Meeting is scheduled for May 13, 2015, at 7:00 pm.
