28 West Bengal (i) The activities of the AWCs are regularly monitored on very 4 Saturday in the GP level by the 'Pradhan'. Supervisors and the ANMs attend the meetings. The followup meeting is held in the Paanchayat Samiti level to assess the performance of the AWCs. GP Members regularly visit the AWCs. (ii) A meeting is regularly held on every 3rd Saturday in the Sub centre convened by the ANM and attended by all the AWWs pertaining to the jurisdication of the sub centre. (iii) Village Health & Nutrition Day is observed on every 3rd Thuesday. (iv) Mothers' meetings are regularly held in the AWCs. BLMC in West Bengal it is called PLMC (Project Level Committee). This committee monitors the functions of the AWCs under the project. The members also frequently visit the AWCs. District Level Committee there is a District Level Committee headed by the District Magistrate. CMOH and other Officers of the line departments are also members of this committee. This committee monitors functions of the ICDS Projects and the AWCs. i) There is a State Level Coordination Committee with the Minister in Charge as Chairman of the committee. Representatives of other line departments are members of this committee. (ii) There is a State Level Nutrition Committee under the Chairmanship of the Ministerin Charge of this Department. Minister in Charge and the Principal Secretary of the Department reviews the operationalisation of ICDS Projects, anganwadi Centres, Recruitment Status, Supplementary Nutrition Programmes and other services delivered from the Anganwadi Centres at a regular interval with the officials of the Department Directorate, District Programme Officers (DPO)(ICDS) and the Child Development Project Officers. District Magistrates/Additional District Magistrate also attend certain review meetings in the State level.
