REORGANIZATION MEETING TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE JANUARY 4, 2016 Cosmo J. Laurella called to order the of the of the Township of Deerfield, County of Cumberland and State of New Jersey, at the Municipal Building, 736 Landis Avenue, Rosenhayn, at 7:00 p.m. The Clerk called upon Judge Paul Porecca to swear in Abigail P. O Brien as Member. Judge Porecca stated that he appreciated being asked to swear in Mrs. O Brien. He further stated that Mrs. O Brien s family and friends are very proud. Judge Porecca indicated that it is a pleasure to see such a bright and grounded young person take on the challenge of government. He further indicated that people don t want to take on the thankless and increasingly difficult task of politics. Judge Porecca stated that when someone like Mrs. O Brien steps up, we should all be thankful and supportive. Judge Porecca reminded everyone that freedom is what makes this country great and allows us to do what we do. Judge Porecca read a short poem on freedom. Judge Porecca then sworn in Mrs. O Brien with the assistance of her family. The Clerk took roll call and the members present were Mr. Sparacio, Mr. Danna, Mr. Spatola, Mrs. O Brien and Mr. Laurella. Mr. Laurella thanked Judge Porecca for coming out this evening. Mr. Laurella led the flag salute. Mr. Sparacio made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spatola, to appoint Karen Seifrit, Clerk, as Temporary Chairperson. Roll Call Vote: Mr. Danna Yes Mr. Laurella Yes Mr. Sparacio made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spatola, to open the floor for nominations for Mayor. The Committee approved. Mr. Spatola nominated Rudy Danna, Jr. for Mayor of Deerfield Township for the year 2016. There being no further nominations, Mrs. O Brien made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spatola to close the nominations for Mayor. The Committee approved. Mr. Spatola made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spatola, to appoint Rudy Danna, Jr., as Mayor of Deerfield Township for the year 2016. Roll Call Vote: Mr. Danna Yes Mr. Laurella Yes Judge Harold Johnson was asked to swear in Rudy Danna, Jr. as Mayor of Deerfield Township for the year 2016. Judge Johnson stated that he was asked to do the honor of swearing in Mr. Danna. Judge Johnson swore in Mr. Danna.

Page Two Mrs. O Brien made a motion, seconded by Mr. Mr. Spatola, to open the floor for nominations for Deputy Mayor. The Committee approved. Mr. Sparacio nominated Frank Spatola, Jr. for Deputy Mayor of Deerfield Township for 2016. There being no further nominations, Mr. Spatola made a motion, seconded by Mr. Sparacio, to close the nominations for Deputy Mayor. The Committee approved. Mr. Laurella made a motion, seconded by Mrs. O Brien, to appoint Frank Spatola, Jr. as Deputy Mayor of Deerfield Township for the year 2016. Roll Call Vote: Mr. Laurella Yes Mr. Danna Yes Chairperson Danna welcomed everyone to the Reorganization meeting. Chairperson Danna stated that he was honored and proud to be appointed as Mayor for this year. He thanked his fellow Committee people for bestowing this honor on him.
