Then, at www. journalists can: 1) Search by keyword or topic. 2) Ask a question with InterviewNet.com "Q&A." 3) Click on one of the favorite topics for search results on our most popular topics. This is the main entry page of the site, and it is important that you choose keywords for your topics that you want to be found on. Also, consider including favorite topics as some of your keywords so when journalists click on the most popular topics you are included in their results. When a journalist clicks on a keyword, our system shows a list of news releases or experts on that keyword. For example, if the search is on Psychology at, the following results screen comes up. Yearbook Results page The icons help journalists know if you have a Web link, e-mail, news releases or Daybook events. When you add content, you make your listing more attractive and functional. How to get around when you log-in: 1. Expert Control Panel Main Site Commands: Control Panel - Edit Profile - Send Release - Manage Releases Others - E-Mail Alerts - My Answered Questions - Instruction Handbook 11
Management Screen One, The Edit Profile Page: There are seven pages in sequence for you to complete to fill out your Press Room Page. 1) Profile Details 2) Book Text 3) Web Text 4) Manage Topics 5) Setup your Page 6) Additional Profile Info 7) View Page and Approve 12
Then, at Send Release there are three ways to send a news release: Text is best, and I ll provide information on the Text Release Input flow. The PDF and Link Release are much simpler, and call for either the upload of a PDF or inclusion of a link. Note that we have found text releases do better in syndication, and we suggest that format. We allow PDF and Link Release for some senders, if they only have access to data in those formats. 13
Then, there is the Basic Information Page: Please do include a Dateline: the city and state where your news originates, as we ve found better syndication for news releases with a dateline. (A dateline is typically the city and state where your news was written.) Then, there is an Optional Step to include links and image: 14
Then, the form to include your text: Please spell-check your text before you enter it in the box. 15
Then, you see the approval page, where you can preview the release. Once you like it, simply tick the box, and your News Release will be live. 16
