Opening Exercise 1.1 Meeting Call to Order Meeting was called to order at 10:14 a.m.. 1.2 Recitation of JCI Creed, JCI Mission and JCI Vision NGLC Senator Brian Kwan was invited to lead the recitation of JCI Creed, JCI Mission and JCI Vision. 1.3 Appointment of Recording Secretary The Chairman appointed Alan Wong of JCI Lion Rock as the recording secretary. 2. Recognition of Guests and Chief Delegates NGLC Senator Brian recognise the guests and chief delegates (please see the appendix). 3. Opening Remarks by Chairman Chairman PNP Senator James Tsui gave the opening remarks. He expressed that the JCIHK Development forum in National Convention has long history, and the people that participle in this forum are the core of the JCI Movement. Today s forum is going to discuss how to meet JCIHK strategic 2016-2020. The long term goal for the new strategy is JCI must start moving in a new direction. By fulfilling the JCI Mission and working towards the JCI Vision, the ultimate result will not only be membership growth, but we should have strong, sustainable impact on local and global. As a JCIHK member, we need to think about what is the important for JCI (e.g leadership, impact project, PR). Nowadays, the ideal active citizen in JCI is between 25-32 age. In order to become a youth leadership organization, we not only focus on recruit potential members, but it is also important to train them up via holding different projects, such that they can become a good leader in the future. 1

Chairman elaborated that there are six elements of CATWOE (Customers, Actors, Transformation Process, World View, Owner and Environmental Constraints) can help to train up members. Six elements of CATWOE are: 1. Customers: Existing Members, New Members, Friends referral. 2. Actors: Other citizens that are involved in the society and those who are ready to implement. 3. Transformation Process 4. World View 5. Owner 6. Environmental Constraints We should focus on recruiting member and need to provide them training via project. Chairman proposes to have a group discussion on how to use those 6 elements to train up to be a leader. 4. Session Focus Sharing by the Group and their facilitators are: Group A: PNP Senator Ellen Tsang Group B: PNP Senator Timmy Lee Group C: NP Senator Anthony Leung Group D: NPC Senator Brian Kwan The group analysis conclusions are attached in the appendix B. Actors: - Execution power - Sense of responsibility - Member experienced value and positive change 3. Transformation Process: - Find out the value of JC (e.g lack of caring, lack of promoting opportunity, lack of ownership - Manage need of members - Opportunity/project for all members 4. World View: - UN, Active citizenship 5. Owner: - BOD 6. Environmental Constraints: - Economic issues / money - Time implication - Government support - Less impact and Great effort Group C Facilitator: NP Senator Anthony Leung Group members: NRRD Lewis, NCCD Kenneth Yu, NUNAD Steve, P Naomi, P Mandy, P Alan, NVPC Debbie, PC Patrizia 1. Customers: 25-35 years old 2. Actors: JCIHK, LOMS, PP, Partners 3. Transformation Process: Training Session before full member, standardize at the initial stage 4. World View: JCI Mission and JCI Visiobn, to be a sustainable leadership organization 3

Environmental Constraints: prioritize, time, caller, path and lack of unity Group D Facilitator: NGLC Senator Brian Kwan Group members: NAD Leo, P John, P May, PC Byron, PC Arthur, PC Victor, PE Kacy 1. Customers: Economic foundation and stable employment, professionals, someone who wants challenges and changes, open minded 2. Actors: Board, chairman, advisors, senior members 3. Transformation Process: JC Career Path 4. Process: Helper => Project OC => Chairman => Officers => Director => President 5. World View: Active Citizen, contributions make change 6. Owner: Everyone (board and all members) 7. Environmental Constraints: Different NGOs competition, 18-40 age people tends to find for short term impact, difficult to persuade them to invest on themselves 5. Closing Remarks by Chairman Chairman thanked everyone for the presence. There are around 40 members to attend this forum. We should recruit members to serve the society and have a clear framework and clear path to recruit members for contribution to the society. As JCIHK members, we should not only focus on quantity of the project, but also the project quality so that this can impact the society. 6. Announcement by National Convention Director NCD made an announcement and promote other programs of National Convention. 7.
