STATE OF MICHIGAN BEFORE THE MICHIGAN PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION NOTICE OF HEARING FOR THE MICHIGAN NATURAL GAS CUSTOMERS OF NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY - A WISCONSIN CORPORATION, AND WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF XCEL ENERGY INC. CASE NO. U-17488 Northern States Power Company, a Wisconsin Corporation, and wholly owned subsidiary of Xcel Energy Inc. (NSP-W) requests Michigan Public Service Commission approval to increase its retail natural gas rates by $527,261 annually, and to implement a meter pressure correction factor. A typical residential customer who uses 900 therms of natural gas per year may see an annual increase of $69.80, excluding the cost of natural gas, if the Michigan Public Service Commission approves the request with the proposed meter correction factor. A typical residential customer who uses 900 therms of natural gas per year may see an annual increase of $75.00, excluding the cost of natural gas, if the Michigan Public Service Commission approves the request without the proposed meter correction factor. (NSP-W) shall mail, by December 26, 2013, a copy of the enclosed notice of hearing to all cities, incorporated villages, townships and counties in its Michigan natural gas service area, and to all intervenors in Cases Numbers U-13365 and U-15895. Proof of service shall be filed by the prehearing conference on January 9, 2014. NSP-W shall cause the enclosed notice of hearing to be published, by December 26, 2013, in daily newspapers of general circulation in its Michigan natural gas service area. Publishing requirements and a copy of the publishing format are enclosed. Affidavits of publication shall be filed by the prehearing conference on January 9, 2014. NSP-W shall, by January 9, 2014, serve a copy of its written direct testimony of its proposed witnesses and the proposed exhibits, as filed with the Commission, upon each person who has petitioned to intervene. Rule 315 (1) Unless the presiding officer allows otherwise, a request for adjournment shall be by motion or stipulation made orally at a hearing or in writing and shall be based on good cause. (2) A motion or stipulation for adjournment shall state the party who is requesting the adjournment and the reason for the adjournment.
