Canvass Election Results J. Toop School Board Election (Board Information, Discussion & Action) Presentation Time: 5 minutes Background: The School Board election was held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 to fill the expiring terms of Directors Steve Adams, Irma McIntosh Coleman, Wendy Donovan, and Kris Newcomer; Coleman did not file for re-election. Results of the election need to be canvassed and approved by the School Board within three to ten days following the General Election, as per State statute. Election results are not official until canvassed by the Hopkins School Board. Recommendations roll call vote: That the Board approves the results of the School Board election conducted on November 3, 2015, by adopting the proposed Resolution Canvassing Returns of Votes of School District General Election. IV. ADJOURNMENT Note: The agenda is subject to change until formally approved Excellence. Every School. Every Student. Every Day.

RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS OF VOTES OF SCHOOL DISTRICT GENERAL ELECTION BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Independent School District No. 270, as follows: 1. It is hereby found, determined and declared that the general election of the voters of the district held on November 3, 2015, was in all respects duly and legally called and held. 2. As specified in the attached Abstract and Return of Votes Cast, a total of voters of the district voted at said election on the election of four school board members for four year terms vacancies caused by expiration of term on the first Monday in January next following the general election as follows: Wendy Donovan Steve Adams Kristine Newcomer David (Dave) Larson Nechia Agate Levesseur Omar Nur Write-In 2,769 votes 2,419 votes 2,401 votes 1,927 votes 1,823 votes 748 votes 72 votes 3. Steve Adams, Kristine Newcomer, Wendy Donovan and Dave Larson having received the highest number of votes, are elected to four-year terms beginning the first Monday in January 2016. 4. The school district clerk is hereby authorized to certify the results of the election to the county auditor of each county in which the school district is located in whole or in part. It is hereby found, determined and declared that the general election of the voters of this school district held on November 3, 2015, in conjunction with the general election was in all respects duly and legally called and held. 2. The clerk is hereby directed to certify the results of the election to the county auditors of each county in which the school district is located in whole or in part. The clerk is also directed to report the results of the referendum revenue authorization election to the Commissioner of Education within fifteen (15) days of the date hereof.
