Local Law Introductory A of 2017 Amend Code, Chapter 59, Electrical Standards The Town Supervisor opened the Public Hearing at 6:01 P.M. with regard to legislation which, if adopted, would reduce the annual registration fee for electrical inspectors working in the Town of New Hartford. [NOTE: The Town Clerk had available the Local Law Introductory, proof of publication in the January 27, 2017, edition of The Observer Dispatch, and Affidavit of Posting.] The Town Attorney explained that when Chapter 59 (Electrical Standards) of the Code had been adopted, it provided for certification of electrical inspections and an annual fee to be paid per inspector. Local Law Introductory A of 2017 now provides an annual registration flat fee of $250.00 for an agency, regardless of the number of electrical inspectors employed by the agency. The inspectors are still required to abide by the other qualifications set forth in Chapter 59 of the Town Code. Consensus of the Town Board was to leave the Public Hearing open in the event interested persons might join the meeting and wish to comment.
