That s going to take place on Monday night. Were you able to get a hold of the Chief s Association? Chief Nolan: Yeah, they re coming. Comm. Hans Health & Safety Comm. Hans Liaison to the District Chief Comm. Hans Chief s Report Chief Nolan: First with the meeting you re having on the 23 rd at the County Chief s meeting, it was brought up about what the first meeting with Cappelli and the Freeholders. All that basically happened was everybody that s on the committee was given sub-committees and they will start working on such things as truck purchase, building purchase, how they re going to come up with a pay system, all those kind of things is what the sub-committees are doing. Then the sub-committees will meet every other month, then they re hoping by December to have something formulated. Cappelli basically came out and said that the Fire Department wasn t the main attraction in doing this, it was the Police Department, and the Fire Department got drug into it. Does he think it s going to work? He brought up about Fire Districts and how there are so many disciplines involved that it might not even work for the Fire Departments. So having the meeting and trying to get to him to get somebody on those 3
Chief s Report, continued committees definitely is a good idea if we can get some people because there is a lot of stuff that if we had a say in part of it coming from the District s end, that would help. I don t know if I brought it up last month, but the Fire Academy has been bought by the College. We re thinking it s actually going to be a good thing because they are educationally based. The Dean has told us that they don t plan on raising any prices as long as the Academy stays proficient and they continue to do classes. That s one thing that Sandrock brought up was that we need to keep coming to the classes they have. We also then brought up that they need to get some new classes. That is being developed for the fall, they re looking at new classes they re going to have. The College is actually going to work with a degree program again through Pat Bigus, he s in charge of the Fire Science program, so there is going to be more classes even some Saturday classes that will count towards your degree once you ve actually signed up with the College. Ff. Brezee was in the meeting with the coordinators and they all think it s going to be a good thing so hopefully there isn t too many changes. The Fire Watch Program with Tammy DeLucca was moved to the College, so we still have a Fire Watch program. If you have to make contact with her, her cell number is available or you can email her. That program was valuable. It had 3,100 clients who have gone through the program since its inception. There were four last week, in one week alone. So the program is worth saving, and the College picked it up. That s all I got. President s Report Comm. Ruth: President s Report? (no President s) Solicitor - D. Capozzi Sol.Capozzi: Nothing to report. Resolutions Comm. Ruth Comm. Ruth: We have a resolution to approve the 2010 Audit. (the resolution was read aloud, a copy is attached to the minutes.)
