PRESIDENT s DAY: FEB 19 th This American holiday we celebrate in honor of this great nation s leaders is recognized on the 3rd Monday of every February, or on February 22nd, which was President George Washington s actual birth date and the very reason why the holiday was established in the first place. Dating back as far as 1885, this holiday has been a constant reminder of the outstanding achievements our Presidents have tirelessly worked to accomplish while also giving the people a proud sense of Americanism 2
Membership Corner Here we are at the beginning of a new year so please remember to renew your membership in PHRWF or consider joining our club if you are not already a member. If you are receiving this newsletter by mail, a membership form is attached for your convenience. Local, State, and federal Elections are this year This is an important election year. The primaries will be in June, and U.S. Congress, state and local elections, in November. Many fine Republican Candidates will be on the ballots and they need your votes. At our meetings, we will do our best to introduce them to you. Recently, our Congressman, Ed Royce, announced he will not be seeking reelection. We hope you will attend meetings to meet candidates running to replace him, and those running for other seats. Each month we will have candidates at our meeting for you to meet and hear what they have to say. For this month, February, we have invited a 57th Assembly Candidate and a Los Angeles County Municipal Judge Candidate. You can read more about them on page 1. Any Republican candidate is invited to meet our members. For March, we have invited 2 Republican candidates running for California State Attorney General... And in April we are inviting the Republican candidates running for Representative Royce's 39th District seat. Stay tuned regularly for more information! 3
OUR MEETINGS In case you missed it, our January meeting was very informational. We were able to hear from 2 Cal State Fullerton College Republican students. They pointed how liberal professors and students do their best to throw roadblocks whenever possible. Professors often lean towards marking grades down for conservative student condescension.
