Student Senate Thursday, July 10 th 2014 3:00pm-5:00pm Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center, TV Room Modesto Junior College, West Campus 2201 Blue Gum Ave. Modesto CA, 95358 Minutes Notice is hereby given that the Student Senate of the Associated Students of Modesto Junior College shall conduct a meeting on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 3:00pm in the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center, TV Room at Modesto Junior College, 2201 Blue Gum Ave. Modesto Ca, 95358. All meetings of the Associated Students of Modesto Junior College are open to the public and are accessible to persons with disabilities. The Student Senate Reserves the right to suspend the orders of the day in order to conduct business. I. Oath of Office: Given by Mayor Marsh II. Call to Order: Called to order by President Rebolledo at 3:33 III. Roll Call: Quorum was established with the exceptions of: Senator Borges, Senator Alvarado, Senator Rivera, Senator Acosta. IV. Adoption of the Agenda: Senator Galindo amended Administrative to Program. Vice President Brown moved to adopted the amended agenda. Seconded. Approved without any objections. V. Public Comment (Brown Act 54954.3): This segment of the agenda is reserved for members of the public to directly address the Student Senate on any matters within its jurisdiction. A time limit of two (2) minutes per speaker and ten (10) minutes per topic will be allotted. The law does not permit any action to be taken, nor extended discussion of items not on the agenda. The Student Senate may briefly respond to comments made or questions posed. For an item to be placed on a future agenda, please contact President Rebolledo.- President Gonzalez introduced herself as the President of Columbia Associated Students. Mr. Christman stated that he is looking forward to work with his sister college, and that Columbia is here for their sister college! VI. VII. Approval of Previous Minutes: June 26, 2014- Minutes were not available. Presentations and Introductions: A. Yosemite Community College District Student Trustee Andrew Campbell- States that he is the voice of the students when it comes to the district-wide level 1 of 5

of the college. He also plans on working with both Associated Students to ensure that their voice are heard. B. Associated Students of Modesto Junior College, Administrative Program Specialist John Ervin III- Was not present C. Associated Students of Modesto Junior College, Administrator Francisco Banuelos- Welcomed everyone to a new year. He also stated that he has an open door policy. He said that he is looking forward to working with all of the new members. He summed up with reminding everyone that they are students first and need to keep their grades up, because he will be checking grades. VIII. Special Orders: A. Vice President Brown has been in office and has seen almost everyone in the office doing office hours. He would also like everyone and anyone to get him ideas for events. 2. Executive Vice President Weaver has been setting up meetings with all of the Vice Presidents. ii. Senator Reports 1. Senator Andrews met with his division Dean and is going to the upcoming division meeting. iii. Student At-Large(s)- None at this time. iv. Advisor At-Large Reports- Once again he looks forward to working with everyone and his door is always open. 4 of 5

XIII. v. Address from the Chair- President Rebolledo is very happy to work with everyone, and has the help that the senate will do great things! He has an open door and is here to help you. Communications From the Floor:- Vice President Brown stated that if anyone needed help learning how things work in the office to ask him. Vice President Rau stated that if you cannot find something ask her. XIV. Announcements- There were no announcements at this time. XV.
