COOPERATION WITH THE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY (CPC): John S. Sample letters and how to personally contact professionals for a joint workshop with the Public Information Committee was discussed, as was seed money and literature for such an event. FORUM: Tom R. The next forum will be Nov. 11-13, 2011, and is funded by the Area; there are 3 more Area meetings before the decision will be made of who is sponsored to attend this year. Today, 26 people signed up for the pool. Please include name, phone, and address. GRAPEVINE: Stacy O. Seven members covered Statement of Purpose for the Grapevine, founded in 1944, and some FAQs. Places to raise awareness: jails, hospitals, and treatment centers. Also - become a Grapevine Representative in a home group; reps encourage groups to purchase subscriptions, and share information with members about new literature such as Grapevine-published books. The Grapevine is supported by sales not by contributions. http://www.aagrapevine.org LITERATURE: Ray H. CMIA 32 literature price changes might reflect A.A.W.S. price changes. (Report attached.) [Also MOTIONS ] PUBLIC INFORMATION: Sharon S. Four districts were represented. District 12 news: Stanley P. met with counselors at each college to provide pamphlets and meeting guides; upon request, through the P.I. chair at GSO, the district hotline phone number will be included on PSAs, radio stations, or TV channels; on the second Friday of every month, the noon meeting at the Flint Arid Club is studying all of the A.A. pamphlets. Steven H. is exploring opportunities for Service Manual training. District 24 news: every school and library in Tuscola and Huron Counties received Big Books and 12 x 12s; at Tuscola County s Oct. 2010 Health Expo, members distributed literature, pamphlets, and 5000 cards with district contact information. SPECIAL NEEDS: Lori F. Five members from four districts discussed the committee s function, and emphasized the importance of how to carry the message to an alcoholic with special needs. TREATMENT FACILITIES: Don M. Eight members represented Districts 2, 8, 12, and 14, and had some basic questions; others requested workbooks 10 workbooks, at $12.00 each; motion before the Area Assembly. District 12 is hosting a workshop on March 31. [Also MOTIONS ] WEBSITE: Donna K. The discussion centered on what information is appropriate to publish on the website and the GSO guidelines for points of reference. MOTIONS: 1. Corrections Committee - $800.00: APPROVED 2. Literature Committee to lower prices of Big Books, hardcover from $8.00 to $7.52 & soft cover from $7.60 to $7.14 & pocket-sized from $4.00 to $3.76: APPROVED 3. Treatment Facilities Committee - $120 for 10 workbook kits: APPROVED Chair adjourned meeting at 2:30 p.m.

ALTERNATE DELEGATE: The GSR meeting opened with the Serenity Prayer. There were 24 in attendance. Kirk F. was introduced as the new Chair and Art M. was introduced as the new Delegate. Larry S., Past Delegate, shared the importance of the Service Manual. We then looked at the GSR pamphlet, and had a Question and Answer period. At the next GSR meeting, we will be looking at the A.A. Group pamphlet. The meeting was closed at 11:15 with the Responsibility Pledge. In Love & Service, Pauline N., Alt. Delegate, Panel 61, Area 32 DELEGATE: This was the first DCM meeting under the newly elected Delegate, some DCMs and other persons in service. The DCM meeting was brought to order with a schedule of activities that included expressions of gratitude for outgoing Treasurer Jim M. (District 12) and Secretary Richard R. (District 16) both of whom have done commendable service for us all. Elections were held with the election of Lori F. (District 2) as Treasurer and Greg O. (District 12) as Secretary. The format for the DCM meetings was presented by the Delegate. DCMs and LCMs were invited to prepare for their district updates and questions during future DCM meetings. Past Delegate Mike Kimling (home District 2) spoke about the upcoming Mock Conference and requested notices to be distributed to all meeting groups throughout Area 32. Past Delegate Jesse Perry (home District 12) spoke about the 2011 MI State AA Convention to be held in Lansing and also encouraged distribution of notices and announcements at all meeting groups. Literature for DCMs was distributed and spoken about by the Delegate who also explained the importance of our learning the responsibilities of the DCM positions as well as GSRs. Following discussions about the future meeting format and confirmation that DCMs will be provided with a list of all officers and committee chairs for their contact as needed in their service, the meeting was adjourned. We took a break from meeting in the months of Dec. and Jan. But a lot of the behind the scenes work continued. Moe, Lyle and Mike from Al-Anon have been working hard on their programs and everything is coming together. We are having a walkthrough of the hotel on Wednesday morning. We will be meeting every month until the convention. Our next meeting will be Feb. 27 th at the hotel. The flyers and buttons are out and online. We gave the other areas flyers at Statewide meeting. We will have convention information tables at the March Round-Up and at the Al-Anon Convention.
