F. HUMAN RESOURCES, SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES AND SENIOR SERVICES COMMITTEE (Ms. McLean, Chair) 1. MS. MCLEAN ANNOUNCED TRITON COLLEGE VOLUNTEERS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE IRS IS OFFERING FREE TAX RETURN PREPARATION AND FREE CREDIT COUNSELING FOR THE ELDERLY 2. MS. MCLEAN STATED CONGRESSMAN QUIGLEY WILL BE AT THE VILLAGE HALL TO HELP WITH FEDERAL ISSUES INCLUDING VETERAN S BENEFITS, MEDICARE, SOCIAL SECURITY AND IMMIGRATION FROM 3 TO 5 P.M. ON FEBRUARY 6 VI. STAFF REPORTS AND COMMENTS; DISCUSSION ON AGENDA ITEMS 1. Joe Lauro stated rain barrels will no longer be given out, but the Village will install and winterize rain barrels purchased by residents and will give follow up calls. He reminded residents due to the extreme cold conditions to continue to let water faucets trickle and keep cabinet doors open because frost is still a concern. He also spoke on the efforts by the Public Works department over the polar vortex from checking on Village residents. Joe spoke about emergency repairs that need to take place on sewers before lining can be applied David Gonzales delivered the 2018 report year-to-date December 27 balance of our accounts John Schneider spoke on revenue coming from new buildings and occupancy and the ongoing community development and the revenue it is producing. He stated that the Village is looking to improve Grand Avenue and Mannheim Road which will produce future income Bill Brehm spoke about the specialty surface rescue that the Fire Department is specializing in and ongoing training for the next three days VII.
