That means that SOS Spring Safari is just around the corner, April 26-May 5. Ten days of great friends, shag music, and lots of dancing. Make sure you purchase a SOS ticket from Beverly Hobgood before you go. She will have tickets for sale at our April 9 th meeting. If you were unable to attend our March party you missed out on a great time. Leslie and Don Dumas transformed the room into a Leprechaun s paradise. Sidney Giaccone found the pot of gold when she won the 50/50 drawing. Congratulations Sidney!! DJ Billy Cook was fabulous. He kept everyone dancing the entire night. The food was out of this world. There is no doubt that has the best cooks ever! Thank you to everyone that brought food, decorated, sold 50/50 tickets, worked the door, took memberships and helped clean up. Everyone worked together to make it a great party. I also want to thank all eight of our guest for sharing in our fun and hope you will join us again. You are always welcome. The April 13 th party will be our Reverse Raffle. This is our annual fund raiser. The DJ for the night Letter from our President continued on the next page.

Admission for the party will be $10.00 each. If you have purchased a reverse raffle ticket you will get into the party free only if you show your ticket stub. If you arrive before 9pm and have not pre purchased a raffle ticket you will receive a reverse raffle ticket with your $10.00 entry fee. After 9pm if you do not have a ticket stub the entry fee will be $10.00 but you will not receive a reverse raffle ticket. All ticket sales end at 9pm and the drawing will begin. All ticket packets are due no later than April 9 th at the meeting. Dwayne Baggett will be at the meeting to collect ticket packets and money. ALL tickets and money must be turned in. If you have sold your tickets and want to turn them in early call Dwayne at 910-850-6322. He will make arrangements to pick up your packet. When you see Dwayne be sure and thank him for his hard work, he has spent many hours on this project! I want to thank everyone for buying and selling tickets and wish you luck in winning the $1000.00 prize. I look forward to seeing everyone at the April 9 th meeting, 6:30pm, Elks Lodge. Meeting Minutes: March Business: MARCH 12, 2019 The Fayetteville Shag Association met March 12, 2019, 6:30 p.m., at the Elks Lodge, 3269 Gables Drive, Fayetteville, NC. Twenty-six members were present. President Trujillo called the meeting to order. Minutes The minutes were approved as given on the website. Treasurer s Report Tom Hobgood, Treasurer, distributed the current Treasurer s Report; it was approved as given. Committee Reports Membership. Membership renewal letters have been mailed. Anyone who has not renewed will pay $10 admission to parties. Publicity. President Trujillo presented a Website Usage Statistics Report (January and February 2019) prepared by Kathi Baloyot showing s page views and first-time visitors. The total to date: 6,389 page views and 2,936 first-time visitors. Newsletter. No report. Photography. No report. Entertainment. The March 23 party (St. Patrick s Day theme) will be a pot luck party. Members with last names beginning with A to M, please bring a main or side dish; members with last names beginning with N to Z, please bring a salad or dessert. The DJ for March Billy Cook. Fifty packets of Reverse Raffle tickets for the April party have been distributed to members to sell. The Reverse Raffle Party will be Saturday, April 13, 7 p.m., Elks Lodge, 3269 Gables Drive, Fayetteville. Reverse Raffle monies and tickets are due to Dwayne Baggett by Friday, April 5. For free admission into the April party, you must show your Reverse Raffle TICKET STUB; otherwise, the admission is $10 at the door. BEFORE 9 p.m., purchasing a party admission for $10 will get you into the party, and you will receive a free Reverse Raffle ticket a chance to win $1,000! After 9 p.m., the April party admission is still $10, but no Reverse Raffle ticket will be included in the admission, and no more Reverse Raffle tickets will be sold after 9 p.m. The Reverse Raffle drawing will be at 9 p.m., Saturday, April 13. Old Business February party. Peggy and Sammy McLamb provided delicious refreshments for the February party. Present: 38 members; 15 guests; 2 renewals; 2 new members. Tom and Beverly Hobgood won the half-and-half drawing and donated $50 to. After expenses for the February party, showed a profit of $122. SOS Cards (2019). Beverly Hobgood is selling the 2019 SOS cards for. The price is $30 for members; $35 for non- members. New Business Symphony Beach Music Project. The regular dances are held the 1st Saturday of each month downstairs in the lounge where there is a nice 18 x 18 wood dance floor surrounded by mirrors on 3 walls. Seating is available between the dance floor area and DJ and the bar. Cover charge is $7 and the club provides appetizers and desserts for members and guests. Approximately 40-60 members attend each monthly social starting at 7 pm. The Moore Shag Society also sponsors 2 to 3 larger parties each year held upstairs in the ballroom.
