The regular meeting of the Wilder City Council was held on Monday, at the Wilder City Building, 520 Licking Pike, Wilder, Kentucky 41071. Lords Prayer Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag Call to Order: Mayor Turner called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll Call: Roll call was answered by Councilman Robert Blankenship, Councilman Brack Herald,, Councilman Robert Honaker and Councilwoman Valerie Jones. Approval of Minutes: Upon motion of Councilman Herald seconded by Councilman Blankenship to approve the Minutes of March 21, 2016 Regular Meeting. Mayor Turner called for a vote. Motion carried unanimously. Incoming and outgoing correspondence copied to Council prior to the meeting. Reports Presented: Police Department Activity Report March 2016 Attorney s Report: Attorney Verst presented Resolution No. 16-0401: Appointing Tim Gilkison as Councilman to fill the vacancy on City Council created by the resignation of Councilman Bradley Jones. Upon motion of Councilman Blankenship seconded by Councilman Honaker to approve Resolution No. 16-0401: Appointing Tim Gilkison as Councilman to fill the vacancy on City Council created by the resignation of Councilman Bradley Jones through the expiration of this term which is December 31, 2016. Mayor Turner called for a vote. Councilman Blankenship Yea Councilman Honaker Yea Councilman Herald No Councilwoman V. Jones Yea Motion carried.
Page 2 Citizen Comments: Tim Gilkison thanked everyone and stated that he looked forward to working with everyone. Mayor s Comments: Pre-construction meeting on the Licking Pike Sewer will be on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Annual Egg Hunt was a huge success. City Wide Yard Sale will be on June 10 th, 11 th and 12 th. City Administrator s Comments: Serious wind has damaged the tarps at the salt house and several signs in the city, however, they are in the process of being repaired. He is looking at some alternatives to the tarps on the salt house. He had completed and submitted the application for the permit from the corps of engineers for the dredging of Frederick s Landing and should hear from them in the next 60 to 90 days. Council Comments: Councilwoman Gearding: Not in attendance. Councilman Honaker: Asked if it would be possible to get some lighting installed to shine on the flag pole at Veteran s Memorial Park. Mr. Vance will look into this. Councilman Blankenship: Welcomed Mr. Gilkison to council and expressed that he looks forward to working with him. Councilwoman V. Jones: Echoed Councilman Blankenship s comments welcoming Mr. Gilkison. Councilman Herald: Also welcomed Tim Gilkison and congratulated him. City Clerk: No comment. Police Chief Comments: Introduced Jerry Armelli, who he has named as the Police Chaplain for the department.
Page 3 Mr. Armelli, who is an ordained minister and a licensed therapist, expressed some of his ideas to help the citizens of Wilder with agency community resources, etc. Councilman Blankenship questioned if this was going to be a full-time position. Chief Williams stated that this was a volunteer position. Fire Chief Comments: Welcomed Jerry Armelli and stated that the fireman may also be in need of his services. Egg Hunt was a success. Fish Fry s were a great success this year and thanked everyone for all their help and everyone for supporting the event. Adjournment: Upon motion of Councilwoman V. Jones seconded by Councilman Herald to adjourn the meeting. Mayor Turner called for a vote. Motion carried unanimously.
