Regulations for the Exhibition ENTRIES 1. Entries on the appropriate for, to be duly signed and received by the Secretary together with the Entry Fee on or before the state closing date for each relevant section. Cheques made payable to Malton Agricultural Society. The receipt of Entries will not be acknowledged but Entry Badges will be sent to Exhibitors at least three days before the Show. NUMBERS SHOULD BE COLLECTED FROM THE SECRETARY S TENT ON SHOW DAY IF ENTRY FEE NOT PAID. 2. ENTRIES RECEIVED TOO LATE FOR INCULSION IN THE CATALOGUE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 3. The Society reserve the right to extend the closing date for entries at their discretion, and to refuse any entry or withhold any prize if there appears to be insufficient merit in the exhibit. 4. If less than three entries are forward, a second prize only will be awarded, unless in the opinion of the Judge a first prize is warranted. 5. Substitutes will only be allowed at the discretion of the Show Council and in any case, details must be in the hands of the Secretary by 9.00am on the day of the Show. 6. All stock entered for competition must be bona fide property of the Exhibitor. All stock must be available at the time stated for Judging, and every effort will be made to maintain the timetable, but the Council reserve the right to make alterations. Exhibitors in the Sheep classes must be prepared to present their sheep for Judging when required to do so by the Stewards. 7. No exhibit shall be removed from the Showground until 4.30pm 8. Any Ponies may be measured by the Veterinary Surgeon. 9. No animal may be taken out of the Show Ring without permission of the Steward. 10. Heavy Horse Turnouts will be inspected before entering the Judging ring, for Health & Safety reasons. 11. All winning exhibits must be available to exhibit in the Grand Parade at 2.30pm. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit of prize money. 12. The Society reserves the right to make amendments to the schedule up to the date of entries closing, amendments will be published on the website (www.maltonshow.com) CHALLENGE CUPS 13. All Challenge Cups must be returned to the Secretary at least 28 days before the Show following at which awarded. OBJECTIONS 14. All protests must be made to the Secretary in writing before 4.00pm on the day of the Show. Any person making a protest shall at the time deposit the sum of 10, which shall, at the discretion of the Council, be forfeited to the funds of the Society in the vent of the objection not being sustained, or if the objection is considered frivolous. 15. SHOW REGULATIONS 1. The ages of exhibits will be calculated to the date fixed for the closing of entries unless otherwise stated. 2. All entries to be made in writing to the Secretaries, and each exhibitor shall Sign such certificates as shall be required by the Secretaries at the time of entry. All exhibits must be bona fine property of the exhibitor at the time of entry. 3. All entrance fees to be paid at the time of entry. No entry will be accepted without payment of the prescribed fee. 4. Any animals that are Judged may leave the Show Ground at 5.00pm 5. All exhibits of Poultry, Pigeons and Rabbits must be penned by 9.30am, Produce, Horticulture by 10am on the morning of the Show, and must not be removed before 5pm, unless by special permission of the Secretary. JUDGING COMMENCES AT 10AM. 6. No exhibitors of Poultry, Pigeons, Rabbits etc. will be allowed to remove exhibits from their Pens without permission of a Steward. Nor will any exhibitor be allowed to display any form of advertisement on any pens or cages. Any person infringing this rule will be fined 1 for each pen so tampered with, and forfeit any prize money, if awarded. This rule will be strictly enforced. 7. In no case will the Society be responsible for the safety of exhibits or packages, nor for any loss that may occur to them from any cause whatsoever, but every care will be taken. 8. All claims for Exhibits in Selling Classes etc. must be made to the Secretary, before 3.30pm on the day of the Show. A commission of 10% will be charged on all sales. If any exhibit is claimed by two or more persons, it will be sold by auction on the Showground at 3.45pm. Any amount realised beyond the catalogue price will be divided between the exhibitor and the Society except in Selling Classes in which classes the whole of the surplus shall go to the Society. 9. Any person who has given false certification or made a false entry shall forfeit any unpaid prize money and shall be disqualified from exhibition at the Society s Shows. 10. No person other than appointed Stewards shall be in any Marquee during Judging. 11. The Fancy Pigeon Section is held under N.P.A. Rules. 12. All Exhibits must have been grown by the Exhibitor, except in Floral Art Section. Any violation of this Rule or any Rules of the Show render the Exhibitor liable to disqualification and forfeit all prizes that have been awarded to such exhibitor. The Committee reserve the right to inspect the gardens of the Exhibitor in all Horticultural Classes. 13. The Committee will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to any exhibits but will use every care for their safety. 14. Judges, whose decision shall be final, will have the power to reserve or reduce the prizes where exhibits shall be considered not to possess sufficient merit or recommend the addition of extra prizes.
