WPRJRC39/15 page2 In the present document, the draft provisional agenda of the eighty-third session of the Executive Board (January 1989) is used as the basis for a direct comparison of the work of the Regional Committee for the Western Pacific, the Executive Board and the World Health ASsembly (see Annex 1). The draft provisional agenda of the eighty-third session of the Executive Board is attached as Annex 2 and the draft provisional agenda of the Forty-second World Health Assembly (May 1989) is attached as Annex 3. The main items to be discussed by the governing bodies are the review of the second monitoring of strategies for health for all by the year 2000, the proposed programme budget for 1990-1991, and strategies for the prevention and control of AIDS. It is hoped that the following items on the provisional agenda of the Regional Committee may lead to debate at the global level: vaccine development and control of communicable diseases by immunization, and adolescent health.
