St. Charles Sportsman's Club, Inc. Membership Meeting Minutes Wednesday, September 5, 2018 President Frank Fruh called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm and led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance. Board members present were, Frank Fruh, Robert Douglas, John Estevez, Julie Morimoto, David George, Clay Starner, and Kendra McCourt. 1 st Vice President was not present 2 nd Vice President No Report was given Secretary Report motion was made to accept minutes from June as published in the Recoil; Ed Winters requested a correction to the minutes from the August 2018 meeting to reflect that the audit would take place sooner should the sale of the lots occur. Minutes were approved with 1 NO. Treasure presented his report on the accounts for SCSC and S&K. Motion was made and approved the treasurer report. Wildlife Report reported that Point Lookout states flounder are very large. Conservation was not present Membership / Property During the Country Life Fest on August 18-19, the Club sold 50 tickets for the Gun Raffle and signed up a couple of NRA memberships. Property has seen some bush hogging for planting by the lake for duck hunting. Road has been surveyed for repair; however, it will cost to repair it. Huntsmaster Archery season is now open. Parking permits are in and there are new sign in sheets at the property; remember to sign in and out; also if you take anything to notify huntsmaster for record keeping. Please do not be afraid to question unfamiliar people on the property and ask to see their membership card. Non-migratory goose season and squirrel season has also started. A motion was made to accept the new hunting SOP that was published in the Recoil; motion passed. Publicity no report Ways and Means ticket sales progressing. Junior Rifle was not present. Julie Morimoto discussed Ladies Night was a success with 2 relays. Also forming a wear and carrying permit class. Old Business Frank Fruh is still working on why we can t shoot on the property. We will probably need cash to go before the zoning appeal board. Deeds are being drawn up and adjusted per the county requirements. Tickets were printed for $5 per ticket for $1000 cash prize after 3 rd gun raffle completed. New Business Frank also spoke with a FFL in regards to supporting us with the gun bash. It was recommended to have one in the 1 st quarter of next year. Charlie Tinsel s daughter has donated his trophies to the club. The club now has wall plaque trophies where a new plate can be installed. If anyone knows of a use for more of the trophies; please let the Board know. Bob Mitchell passed away and his family is selling his reloading equipment. Board Meeting Synopsis Wednesday August 15, 2018 The SCSC Board meeting was held on 15 Aug 2018 and was called to order at 7:48 pm The SCSC board meeting took place on 15 Aug 2018 and was started at 7:03 pm. Present were Frank Fruh President; John Estevez Ways and Means; Clay Starner Huntmaster; Julie Morimoto Publicity; Conservation; Brian Malpasso At Large Wildlife; Dave George Property/Membership; Chuck Zublic Treasurer; Kendra McCourt Secretary. Minutes from the June meeting were approved. No meeting in July as there was no quorum. Finances were reviewed. Publicity discussed flyers that were created and printed for the club as handouts. Proceeds from the indoor range were presented. Gun raffle is still on going. Huntsmaster stated parking permits are in and available for pick up at the general membership meetings. It is noted that a tree has fallen in the ditch and there is a sign at the shed stating the road is closed. Frank Fruh has a neighbor putting a new septic system; the dirt being removed will be dumped on Frank s property that can be used for the culvert repair, provided it is usable. 3

Treasurer s Report Chuck Zublic Per our by-laws, funds collected from committee activities shall be turned in to the treasurer within 30 days of the event. Event paperwork must include a list of participants, their SCSC member number (or other affiliated club membership number), the amount paid, and the total income. The committee financial report must also include a detailed, itemized listing of all expenses, and must include receipts. Reimbursement will not be paid without supporting paperwork. The club newsletter, Recoil, is available in the member section of the web site from January 2002 to present. The latest Recoil is generally posted to the web site the weekend before the monthly meeting. Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed to download, read, and print the Recoil. Remember to sign-in at the shed and notify Clay with details about any game taken on the Welcome property. Junior Rifle Matthew Noe/Michelle Klein SCSC Junior Rifle runs the first Sunday of every month between 1 pm and 3 pm. This free program focuses on safety and marksmanship, and provides shooters with ear/eye protection, ammunition and a.22lr rifle for use during their training period. Instructor Matt Noe encourages monthly attendance so shooters can build their marksmanship skills and progress through shooting positions and ranks. We are open to the public, but require the presence of the adult guardian throughout the training time.
